You may lose 3-4 lbs per side on the change over - wheels and all. Rotating weight is more important yes. But actual rotating weight will not be the whole 3-4 lbs in this case.
Thanks,
David

From my experience, if you use a coil over with a 12" spring, you will need a 425 lb spring.

Re: Too MUCH WRINKLE?
Point is, there is a combination to everything and yes, he may benefit from more air. He may could benefit with a wider wheel to stand the sidewall up. That wrinkle is not excessive but I think you can be a little better with a wider wheel. I do like wheel screws because it makes the sidewall stiffe...

Re: Too MUCH WRINKLE?
While I am sure what you suggest will help to some extent, I do have a couple of questions for you Ed. The cars that you help, are they small tire cars or big tire cars? Also in the original posters pic, did you happen to put any consideration into the wheel width? I am not trying to get into a p'sn...

Re: Shane Stack's 25.2 Drag Radial Monte Carlo
Well thats what I'd like to see, more than just Mustangs and newer Camaros. Thats why I said that the backhalf stuff would even it out. Maybe ladder bars only?

Re: Shane Stack's 25.2 Drag Radial Monte Carlo
Mike, I don't know what the rules need to be to allow all cars. I'd like to see them allow a true back half. I don't think it would cost much, if any more, and would be no faster than a well built "stock" suspension car. This would let every car have the same opportunity to race and be com...

Re: Shane Stack's 25.2 Drag Radial Monte Carlo
Thanks for the comps Mike! I don't take it as criticism. Yes, I think Donald would have let you build your car like this if asked. I think he, like anyone that actually gets out and runs this stuff seriously, realizes that having the stock floor pan in the rear of the car means nothing for performan...

Re: Shane Stack's 25.2 Drag Radial Monte Carlo
Thanks guys! Yes it's a shame that it has come down to having to build cars like this to be competitive. If you don't think ahead and build a car pushing every rules limit, you'll have to be constantly redoing the car. Kinda the lead, follow or get out of the way principle. haha Shanes runs ORSCA li...

Re: Tapered Bolts for Steering Arms/Tie Rod Ends
Craig,
If you don't mind altering your steering arm, I just drill the taper out a little oversize and press in a piece of 5/8" .058 tubing if you are using 1/2" tie rod ends.

Jumbo, I did not think to tell you in the pm's that you could come by the shop and pick up a few tig rods to do that or you can bring the stuff to me and I'll weld it for you.

I would not want it on a high horsepower car. I think they are meant more for street rods or cars that people don't want to cut the floor on.

Re: four link tubes
I'm not sure there is an ideal length. Short bars are stronger but make a larger instant center change per adjustment, as they go down the track, with the car moving up and down around the rearend housing. Longer bars give up strength or have to use larger diameter and or thicker tubing to make up f...
