Re: 68 Nova mini tubs

I agree, it does look tough. They are clainimg a 13.4 section width.
I am lowering it with Caltrac split monos 1" drop and sliders.
Since it is street driven I might play it safe and go with the 295/65-15.

Thanks, Travis

Re: 68 Nova mini tubs

I narrowed mine a '72 nova, I'm thinking about 1/4 inch out of the stock frame.

Do you guys think a MT 315/60-15 on a 10"rim will fit with the right backspace?

I'm thinking of going with A MTT-3762R 295/65-15.

Thanks

I was looking at this:

Hiding them under a carb heat shield behind carb.
Those under manifold systems are really expensive.

Thanks guys, that really helps,
especially because they don't have any
tabs or brackets mounted to them.

Kirkey seats

I bought a set of pro street seats for the '72 nova. I am finally getting rid of the uncomfortable plastic summit seats I got with the car. How do you guys mount them? http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=KIR%2D99204&N=700+400266+4294925230+115&autoview=sku I pr...

mig welders

I have an old Lincoln weldpack 100 mig. I've been looking for a 220v, probably a Miller even though my old lincoln was a good welder. I'be got my eye on thier Millermatic DVI 2 #907323, but they have a Millermatic 212 #907324 for a couple hundred more. The DVI will run 110 or 220, just not sure the ...

yea, I hate to buy new wheels too. I mounted the 29.5/10.5-15 on the 8" rim just to see what it looked like. It pulled the section width from 13" to 12.5". I'm definately gonna run them on a 10" rim. When I get rims I'll get them mounted and measure them so I can get them centere...

thanks guys I figured i was going to narrow it anyway and do aftermarket axles all in one shot. I have just enough room to get my fingers between the tire and quarter. If i hit a bump on the street it will rub. I'll be replacing my 275/60-16 with MT 29.5/10.5-15. If I keep my 4 1/2" backspace w...

rim backspace

I have a '72 nova with a 8" rim with 4 1/2 backspace. I am in the middle of a mini tub project and looking to get another 2" of tire under there. Currently running 275/60-15 I'm looking at getting a set of 10" wide rims. The rear is going to get shortened a little depending on the rim...

Well, those seats aren't all that comfortable for long term use, I guess it's how much pain you're willing to put up with. A friend built a Yenko nova semi clone, and installed 4 of those seats in it with the yellow covers. They're OK for short hops, but I don't want to spend more than 20 minutes o...

John Calvert recommends that you install the slider so that the center of the rear spring eye is 1" - 1 1/2" from the back of the slider while resting on the ground.[/quote] Thanks Gearjammer that's a big help. What is the best way to fab a mount for the slider? I was thinking of a plate o...
