Re: MSD Can-bus Data
You can read the actual ignition timing with a tach timing module from Electrimotion.com. The timing line from the grid shows what it was supposed to be. (If everything is ok, they will be the same) The module will output an analog signal that can be read into your data logger.

Re: MSD Can-bus Data
In order to read the Grid, the programmer would need detailed information from MSD regarding the instructions and data format. Since MSD owns Racepak, that information will probably not be released to competitors. Unless that is made available, you will need to download the Grid seperately. What inf...

Re: RPM questions
The EGT is probably shorting to the body of the probe or the braided line. That will make it read low, usually in the negative range. If the Fast, O2 output is between 0 and 5 volts, you can log it in the data logger. All you need is an analog cable and a connector to put on the signal line from the...

Tire Shake Controller
We are finishing up a new tire shake controller, and need some cars in the central US area to complete the testing. If you have frequent tire shake, and would be willing to help us finish the development of the controller, please email me at rpmperformance@cs.com. Randy McMahon, RPM Performance Prod...

Re: Ford 9" drive shaft sensor RPM logger?
The RPM data logger uses a 4 magnet collar. We can also modify the program to work with up to 8 magnets on request. We don't have an 8 magnet collar, and adding 4 more to our collar won't be practical because the position of the four magnets would force added magnets to be where the collar splits. I...

Re: randy i need mud help
Sorry for taking so long to answer. We have done data loggers for mud racing, but the system is not waterproof. Most mud racers put the computer in a waterproof enclosure. It can be as simple as a tupperware box with a snap on lid. The systems we have on mud race vehicles are performing well. The se...

Re: Digital dashboard
Hello Again, Good news. The NHRA is now allowing digital dashes driven by data loggers in sportsman classes. Also good news. We have found a manufacturer that can make the custom LCD display the way we want at a reasonable price. Best news. We are developing a Digital Dash for the RPM Performance, D...

Re: Digital dashboard
We have been looking into the dash proposition for some time, and there is one major stumbling block. According to the NHRA rules, the digital dashes that are displaying information provided by a data logger are not legal in sportsman classes. General regs 9:2 "the transmission or display of an...

Re: replacement O2 sensor
Wire lengths are not specified, but there are several sources for the LSU 4.2 sensor you listed. One of the lower costs is at oxygensensors.com ($49.00) As to not having a connector, you need to know the specifics of the controller you are using since some controllers rely on the calibration resisto...

Re: Choosing a Data Logger
Jason, The symptoms you explained say that the problem is in the data system. If you still have the system on the car, there are a couple things we need to check. If the probe element has shorted to the tube, it can cause offsets in the reading. If you can call me when you can connect to the system ...
