I've been down a few years but this was a pass before it broke.

Re: Choosing a Data Logger
I shopped around for a few months before choosing RPM. What sold me was the turn key packages. I picked what fit my needs best and everything was in the box. I didn't know what worked with what and the RPM deal basically took me out of the loop.

1998-2000 GMC/ Chevy 3500 crew cab
I'm looking to buy a truck to tow my car for next year. I like the way the Chevy 1999- 3500s look. I have just started looking around and am wondering what prices are in everybodies neck of the woods. I used to have a 85 454 dually and it was fine. I'm not against getting another '85 but I like the ...

Re: Data Logger Graphs
Is it a Lenco planetary, or a gearbox like a Jerico? Corey It’s a G-force 5speed. Just about the same thing as a Jerico or Liberty. A Lenco planetary transmission has an internal clutch in each stage. Therefore it is not considered clutchless. However you still shift it without using the clutch. On...

Re: Data Logger Graphs
My last race was in 2006 so I was a bit rusty. The double peeks are from over shifting. I want to shift @ 7500. The chip is set to 8500. The graph is telling me I'm against the chip early in the run. Later the car is spinning the tires. Post race autopsy showed I had the shock extension set to max s...

Re: Data Logger Graphs
Speaking of run graphs... This is a run from a week ago. The bumps in the DRPM are what lead me to buy a data logger in the first place. If it is not obvious from my screen name, this is a stick shift car. My plan is to soften the clutch in hopes of smoothing things out. I have some shock tuning to ...

Re: Beginer questions.
Where do you have your oil pressure sensor? Slow gauge response is typically due to the size of the line going to the gauge. You shouldn't have to bleed it... Pressure is pressure. All that air in the line should do is dampen the response of the needle. I have seen small & long lines have a ver...

Re: Why not to buy a rpm system
I bought an RPM system this spring. I prepared all the cables and sent them back to RPM as required. They returned quickly. I have no complaints. Later I had a discussion with Randy regarding my input shaft magnet install. I cracked the magnet myself. After testing to see if the computer could still...

Very informative tech article on the vacuum pump. I like this part the best: How does running a vacuum pump affect oil pressure? I don't personally believe that a vacuum pump affects oil pressure that much from a physics point of view, because if you have atmospheric pressure in your pan or more or ...

When I first built my car I used a Ford smog pump as my crank case vacuum pump. I drilled and tapped the housing for the intake and covered the original intake opening with epoxy. Later when I was forced to remove the pump, I did not notice any power loss or gain after however I had all typed of oil...
