Im going thru in drive at 5200 rpms. I shift at 6500 and would feel fine taking it to 7000, but I doubt its making any more power past 6500.
I get the feeling a 1.7 60 foot is good for only 106 mph. I wonder how much the 4.10 gear will get me.

I finally got back to the track with my Nova. The only change was from the 1800 stall speed to the TCI Super-street fighter 3600 stall speed. Previous best was 2.02 60', 8.44 @ 86.5 1/8 and 13.01 @ 107.7 1/4. New best is 1.700 60' 7.94 @ 86.4 1/8 and 12.54 @ 106.8 1/4 The track was not prepped very ...

My current Nova has the flat SS hood. But this is the car I was talking about.
I used to run it at Fremont about 20 years ago.

I think the biggest benefit is cooler air to the carb. I built one to go over my carb and used some foam to seal it to the hood. It was worth .15 and 2 mph.
I went from 11.95 to 11.80 and 116 to 118.
If you have a properly sized air filter, it should make no difference with or without the filter.

How fast is your car with the current camshaft? I assume the current cam specs of 288/298 are advertised duration numbers, not the duration at .050". I wouldnt run more than 260 degrees at .050" on the intake side. I do like 108 LCA for 3.25 stroke engines. You should be able to get a 260 ...

The cam I ground is 238/238 @ .050" 110 lca and .535"/.535" valve lift with 1.6 rockers. It is a mechanical flat tappet and with the lash at .028" the advertised duration is 282 degrees. I originally built this engine to be used with a 4 speed and to drive back and forth to work....

My Nova is doing the same thing off the line. I run 8.4 @ 86 (1/8 mile) with a 2.05 60' time. It will only stall 1800. It really pulls hard about 100 feet out. My best 1/4 pass so far has been a 13.01 @ 107. Its a 71 Nova and weighs 3450 with me in it. It has a small block / th350 and 3.31 gears. I ...

The bolt pattern is 1.815" wide and 5.050" long on the outside pattern. There are 10 holes overall to mount the slider.
The dimension of the mounting pad section is 3.5 inches wide and 6.600" long. 3" wide box tubing will work.

The PSCA wild street class run the 275-60 drag radials. At the final event one car ran in the 7's.
These cars will not hook on a typical wed nite prep track. I have seen a few try to test on saturday test and tune and its fun to watch, but scary.

The above post was me not loggin in. whoops.

A freind of mine has the Cold Fusion program and it seems to work pretty good. We had too much jet , not enough bottle pressure and too much fuel pressure. We are now going faster with a 92 jet instead of a 110 jet and using a lot less nitrous.
