Re: Launching Problems--HELP
I think you'd like the QA1-R shocks. The R version is rebound adjustable without removing the shock from the car and the compression is fix at a stiff valving. I've been using these shocks for a number of years with good results. There are probably better shocks out there, but for $140 they are a g...

Re: Launching Problems--HELP
Thanks for all your help. What do you suggest for shocks? Koni SPA-1? Just bought the CE shocks last year so maybe I'll set them at the lowest setting for now and play with the limiters.

Re: Launching Problems--HELP
Is this what you mean by limiters? I've been told these bolts are what they are but I don't know exactly how to adjust them. http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o122/jgo555/Camaro004.jpg http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o122/jgo555/Camaro005.jpg Some brackets, mostly heads up shootouts 1/4 and 1/8 ...

Re: Launching Problems--HELP
X2 what Craig said - or turn the power up, sounds like you're dead hooking it. Never heard of this term, can you go into some detail? Let it spin a little, you wont stand it up on the bumper. When you say "turn the power up" you mean launch at a higher RPM? I try to launch close to 4500 t...

Launching Problems--HELP
I need some advice on keeping my front end down when I launch. Seems like kinda a "nice" problem to have but I can't leave off my trans-brake without standing on the back bumper. First off..... 1968 Camaro, back halved, 3200lbs 582 BBC 800hp/736ft/lbs, TH400 with B&M brake, Ford 9"...

Re: wheelie bars on 71 nova
Thanks for your post bert, don't mean to hijack but I have a similar problem. 68' Camaro, stock front, monoleafs and ladder bars out back with a 582 between the fenders. If I bring the engine up on the brake and leave at 4500rpm the car stands itself on the back bumper. So I take it the sprung wheel...

Is there a real weight difference between front drums and discs?

Re: Drum To Disc Brake Conversion Kits
I've looked at their stuff before and if I was to order it would probably be through them. Their prices seem fairly reasonable although I'm not too sure about shipping and duty (I'm from Canada). How has your stopping power improved Bruce?

Drum To Disc Brake Conversion Kits
I'm looking for a front drum to disc conversion kit for my '68 Camaro. I'm looking at a factory bolt in kit right now but I have a question about front wheel clearance. I'm running Weld Magnum Drags, 15 X 3 with a 2.5" backspacing which had zero clearance issues on my drums. How do I make absol...

Re: Drum to Disc Brake Conversion Kits
Yes that helps, thanks. I was talking about a complete change over kit from stock drums to stock discs.

Re: Drum to Disc Brake Conversion Kits
I guess a better question would be if I was to buy conversion kit complete with spindles, would I be able to upgrade to good quality rotors and calipers using those same spindles? I'm running Weld Magnum Drags up front with a 2.5" backspace and I'm a bit concerned with how the calipers would fit.

Drum to Disc Brake Conversion Kits
Anybody ever try the Summit drum to disc conversion kits? I kinda like the price tag, about $500 compared to some of the more popular name brands. What would I be sacrificing in quality and safety going with the cheaper Summit kit and would they be enough to pull my car down from a 130 to 140mph pas...
