I also have a trans temp gauge on the dash so I can keep an eye on things. I have never owned a set of aluminum heads before do I need to know anything about them? I am als...

Re: Wont idle in gear
I am making some changes to the motor now. I will be ordering the following parts in a week or two: New set of aluminum heads, intake manifold, and a 3,500-3800RPM stall converter. I crawled under the truck and with out measuring it I can tell its not a 10" converter. Besides that I have a gut ...

Re: Wont idle in gear
Im not sure what kind of converter is in the truck. It was in it when I bought it from my father in law and every time I ask him I get a different answer. It feels to me that it flashes right before 3000 RPM and I think that is causing some of the problem but not all of it. It sometimes acts like it...

Re: vacuum advance
you can get one at an auto parts store I believe they were used on older cars not equipped with an EGR. I might be wrong but it seems like I just heard that a couple of days ago.

Re: vacuum advance
I run with 12* initial 34 total by 2700 RPM with the vac advance hooked full manifold vac. I also made a limiter plate so I only get 8* of vac advance. I can feel it in the seat of my pants after setting it up this way compared to the way it was.

Small journal 327 Value?
I have a small journal 327 that I just pulled out of my truck. I want to get it out of my way but I dont give it away. I only want a fair price for it. It is .020 over freshened up not too long ago, the 882 heads are also fresh from the machine shop less than 150 miles on them and it is complete oil...

Re: weak and hesitant under load

I didnt see any broken or bad wires in the dist which doesnt mean anything but what could the problem be? coil, module? I would like t...

Re: weak and hesitant under load
I have the accelerator pump set up to squirt as early and as much fuel as it is possible to adjust. Its not just one quick bog and then it goes its on and off kinda like the ignition switch is being turned on and off really fast and never clears up but not quite as drastic.

Re: weak and hesitant under load
It doesnt seem to clear up though. I had the same carb un touched on a stock 327 and never had this problem. The new motor in my opinion would need more fuel not less. Could it be caused by a lean secondary condition?

Re: Traction help
I have never used drag radials before. Will they make a huge difference over street tires or just slightly noticable? I plan on going to the strip for the first time this summer and I am trying to get prepared.
