no you dont have to do anything to the firewall.
but you will need a small diameter distributer like a msd

buy you some big washers that have the same diameter hole .
find you a piece pipe to use to CENTER the washer on the body mount and weld them on the BOTTOM side of the mount then you can take a die grinder to cut the rust metal on top.
weld the the top.
grind smooth
