Re: broken bellhousing th350
My memory isn't great on this, but it seems to me his first problem was a broken tailhousing, maybe two of them, then he broke a bell housing. I believe he did the driveshaft change, added pinion snubber and put a different transmission in it all at the same time and problem went away. Hard to tell...

Re: broken bellhousing th350
Another vote for the driveshaft, But I think it may be too short. Had a buddy of mine, Got him some good shocks on the car that made it dead hook, 3 passes later, broke the case. So thinking it may have been just one of those deals, replaced the case again. 3 passes later, broke the case. So really...

Re: broken bellhousing th350
One of my buddies broke a number of bellhousings, including a Ultra bell in his G-body. He did a shot gun approach, putting in a pinion snubber and changed the drive shaft length at the same time and it fixed it. Most likely at some point it's bottoming out the driveshaft. Thanks John I took the la...

Re: carb for automatic
I have a 87 monte 383 I went from a 3310 vac to a 4779 and the car went a 10th. The 60 stayed the same 1.61. I only switched to see if it would run closer to the number and it did.

Re: weak and hesitant under load
Try a vacuum gauge. I had the same problem and turned out that my intake gasket was leaking. My 041 heads were cut down and the bottom of my intake was was pulling air.
