Re: electric water pump
This is my big block but it might help give you some ideas. I apologize about the huge pic but this is the way I had to rig up my alternator (which I changed to a GM 12si now) when I installed the dedenbear pump. It's a jegs brand alternator mounting bracket that I modified to fit with my home made ...

Re: BMF heads?
Well just to be on the safe side I'm definatly going to look into getting the T&D shaft rocker system before I start racing again. I'd hate to even think what it would cost me if one did break! LOL! Thanks for all your help and replies guys.

Re: BMF heads?
The best thing you can do to help the weakness of the BMF 385/405 is to run the T&D shaft rocker system with the 1 piece intake stand. This distributes the load over the whole head. I 2nd what Todd says. I had 45+ passes on my 525 shifting between 91-9300 and a trap RPM between 92-9350 RPM with...

BMF heads?
I was just wondering if anybody on here has anything good or bad to say about bmf heads on a bbc. I seen quiet a few post from people on another site that had bad experiences with there heads and kind of made me worry a little bit since I got the 385's on my engine.

Re: th350 build buy what to do
I totally agree with you guys but unless he's planning on doing some engine upgrades or more spray soon I just don't think he will be going 8's and 9's with the combo he's running now. But yea if he's planning on going faster (what dragracer doesn't) it would be better to go with the 400. Or even be...

Re: th350 build buy what to do
Yea I or anybody I knew never broke the stock sprags but I just installed hardened ones in there just to be on the safe side. Maybe I just got lucky. LOL!sc racing wrote:I dont know why but we broke the aftermarket spags a few times so we use the stock ones.

Re: th350 build buy what to do
Well I know there's probably a lot more experienced guys on here than me but from my personal experience I would probably build it somewhat the same as the one you have in your car now. In 1998 I had a 80 camaro with a 383 sbc (still have it to this day) that I sprayed with a 225 shot when I needed ...

Re: th350 build buy what to do
What's wrong with the one you have now? And what all have you done to it? As far as the parts you installed. And why do you want to use another case? Or did you just want to build another one for a spare?

Re: drag slick life expectancy??
Slicks are good until you start to see a little bit of the threads showing!!! Just ask Scott Willis aka "Aitch O" LOL J/K I have 50 passes on my slicks and they have been on the car for about 1 1/2 years.. 1.31 60ft last time out, but John Heard says they might be a little worn out, aint ...

Re: drag slick life expectancy??
Thanks John! The durometer is definatly the next little gadget to be added into my tool arsenal. Now as far as the date code, I've heard that before but how do you break that down? Or is that something that M/T only can tell you? And say someone wanted to order the freshest tires off the line, Can y...

Re: drag slick life expectancy??
They sit around in the warehouse longer that 18 months a lot of time. I think Jason from M/T said a while back as long as they aren't used and don't get exposed to light and ? they last a long time. There might be something about that on the M/T FAQ page maybe. Not sure how many races you got left ...

drag slick life expectancy??
I'm just trying to get some peoples opinions on the life expectancy of M/T drag slicks. I was talking to one of our local race car builders here and he told me that slicks start to loose there stickiness around 18 months whether you use them or not. Is that true? I'll give you a quick rundown of wha...

Re: Working on fuel system
I put that same pump on my truck and it works awesome! Right now I'm running all motor but should be more than enough pump if later I decide to add a little juice! And kind of off the subject I noticed you had asked what part of texas I was from in the get to know everyone section. I'm from Abilene ...
