Re: Switching from a Turbo 350 to a 400?
I went from a 400 to a 350 a few yrs ago and like the 350 in my car. I don't care for a glide at all and feel the 3 speeds will be quicker over a 2 speed. My car runs high 9.90s with a 1.30 sixty @ 3250#. Oh ya NA too.

Re: Higher low gear for TH350
The Cutlass launches very well as long as the front is in the air with 1.30 sixtys. Launching @ 3000 (5500 stall), shift @ 6600, going thru the traps @ 7000. Refuse to go to a glide. Been thinking about taking timing away @ launch or maybe going from 4.88s to 4.56 or a 4.33 gear. Any suggestions?......

Higher low gear for TH350
Does anybody make a different low gear ratio for a TH350? Like maybe a 2.40-2.?

Re: my local track is in trouble...
Cedar Falls Raceway (Iowa) is my home track and seems to be solvent. They run about 9-10 two day events a season with test and tunes in between. $80/single, $150/two day entry for Super Pro & Pro. They have a first round buy-back ($40). Run out both classes and the winnners race a box/nobox runo...

Re: How to improve vehicle reaction time
Going from the tall front tires to the 26" ers, made the RTs quicker by about .025-.030. That was running two classes two days (Box & Nobox with trans brake). No way to tell exactly but did what we were after :smt003. Are you still running the Rocket Racing heads? Yes I am and they are wor...

Re: How to improve vehicle reaction time
So we have a Moroso pair of front tires on the Olds. They are 27 3/4" tall and 87 3/4" circ. I think some 26" diameter tires 81" circ might do the trick? What can we expect for improvements?

Re: Changing to coil overs on the front of 71 Nova
Sorry for not getting back here sooner. My springs are about 3/4 the way up the shocks. When I was driving the car it was very stable. Jok tells me he launches the car and wouldn't need a steering wheel until he turns onto the return road .

Re: Aftermarket Discs
OK thanks guys. Like the advantages of the Strange set up. But I'm sure the other two will help with safety also.

Aftermarket Discs
I am going to replace my factory disc brake set-up with something aftermarket. I have Wilwood discs on the rear. My first instinct is go with Wilwoods on the front too. Or is there a better set-up for an A body? The car weighs 3300 lbs and runs high 9s @ about 133 mph..

Re: Changing to coil overs on the front of 71 Nova
I use the QA1 coil over conversion and am very happy with them. They have the 250 lb springs. Pulls 1.30-1.32 sixties.
