Re: AOD help one more time Pllleeaaasse.

I got it! At first I didn't want to go pulling stuff out the front of the tranny, because I didn't have a clue what was back there. Finally decided that there wasn't much of anything mechanical that could stump me, so I took it apart. There was a washer that had came out of its home, and a few of th...

AOD help one more time Pllleeaaasse.

Hopefully I didn't mess up here. I removed the front pump from my AOD to helicoil the stripped case. When I did this the gearing behind it came forward a little bit, and I'm not sure if it is all the way back where it's supposed to be, or if something came out of alignment and it's not all the way b...

Re: trailer brake wiring

Did you adjust your brakes after you put them on? They usually aren'd adjusted properly when you install new ones. Also, make sure that the magnet surface of the drum is smooth. If it has ridges or waves in it, the magnet won't be able to grab nearly as hard as one with a "mirror finish".

Re: ? for trailer pro or anybody else

If you're going to put shocks on it, I'd put them on both axles. You can buy a u-bolt plate that has shock mounting holes on it already, then just weld a tab onto your trailer frame for the other end to bolt to. You can use either type of shock, really won't matter. Why are you wanting to put shocks...

Re: New here...

I'll post up some pics of our current projects tomorrow. I don't have any on this computer. We mainly just have really fast street cars that we take to the track, nothing that's 100% strip yet.

Here's what we're working on now:

74 Camaro z28
64 Fairlane 500
81 Ford Flareside F100 Custom

Re: open trailer question

If you get non-treated, just get some linseed oil and "mop" it on the floor - usually 2 or 3 coats. It has worked for the decks of ships for years and years, and has been great on trailers too! Cheapest treatment you can get.

New here...

Just thought I'd say hey and introduce myself. I'm John Jones from Oklahoma City. Have a family trailer business in S. OKC and been here for about 7 1/2 years. Been around hot rods all my life, and love to race. Hopefully I can help some folks out with truck/trailer info, and get some good info from...

Re: towing sway control????

First I'd check to make sure your car isn't too far back in the trailer. If that's not the case, and you're not getting any sag at the rear of your trailer, weight distribution hitch isn't needed. You should just be able to add a swaybar (or two as mentioned earlier). They are adjustable as to how m...
