Re: New drag race logbook for iPhone, iPad, and Android
Navigation is a pain in the tail on phones, especially if the same navigation is supposed to look decent on a larger display. I had to do some tricks in the app so that the screens dynamically changed their layout depending on the resolution of the device. Are you using a library to do any of it or ...

Re: New drag race logbook for iPhone, iPad, and Android
Ah.. That may be too big to use jQuery Mobile on then. There are lots of things you can do with CSS to automatically convert to a mobile layout, but honestly most of it is above my head :) I have been doing backend processing work for too long and am still catching up to all the new web dev stuff. Y...

I don't know what all it requires but you might want to look into jQuery Mobile.

Re: New drag race logbook for iPhone, iPad, and Android
You won't believe some of the requests I've gotten. The app currently runs on 4 platforms from 3 different companies, 3 OSs, and 6 different device types. People are still saying "I can't believe you don't support xyz, can you make it for that?" I'm sure there will be a Google TV and Apple...

Re: New drag race logbook for iPhone, iPad, and Android
Ok, for those of you who wanted to put this on a laptop, I have it figured out. I have converted the app to a Chrome App that can run within the Google Chrome web browser without internet connectivity. The only feature this doesn't have is the automatic weather collection - that requires GPS which m...

Re: New drag race logbook for iPhone, iPad, and Android
John that might be device specific. On mine the text is black and the background is white. What's it look like on yours? If it's different on yours I need to fix it :)
And thanks for the kind words!

New drag race logbook for iPhone, iPad, and Android
I know some of you used my site - RacersLog.net - so I thought I'd drop by and let you know there is an Android version now. This app doesn't require internet access (except for Density Altitude and Backup), everything is stored directly on your iPhone, iPad, or Android device. It has some really po...

Re: Drag racing log book software
Due to some requests by users the following fields have been added and can be tracked on each run:
Timing
Carb. Jetting
Fuel Pressure
Length of Burnout (in seconds)
Injector Size
Duty Cycle
Still working on auto incrementing component usage.
Thanks,
Zach

Re: Drag racing log book software
Great idea on the auto increment of runs on components! I'll look into getting that in there. The weather data is gathered from several different sources, one is wUnderground.org. Elevation data is gathered from Google. I would rather not use Google for elevation but I can't seem to find a reliable ...

Re: Drag racing log book software
The data is stored locally on my web server (which is in a hosting facility, not at my house). I am going to implement a back-up option soon that will allow the users to get an export of all of their data via a CSV file which would be able to be opened by Excel or any text editor. That way if for wh...

Re: Drag racing log book software
Thanks for the tip - I will do that.
Let me know what you think after playing with it. I'm more than willing to work on new features if they are needed.
Thanks,
Zach

Re: Drag racing log book software
Sorry, probably should have done that first. My name is Zach Smith and I'm from Louisville, KY. Not a huge drag racer but have been into the car scene for a while. I'm a software engineer and work at a local bank. The car I drive is a '03 Mustang Cobra with a couple small mods, about 470 to the whee...
