Re: E85

Thanks BracketNova, I really appreciate the info. This will give me a really good starting point. My car seems to like 41 degrees of total timing with the 110, hopefully it won't be too far off. Really nice car, I'm not sure I'll ever see the times you are running but I can atleast try to improve an...

Re: E85

Thanks BracketNova, sounds like it is very consistent. Did you have to move any on the heat range of your plugs or adjust your timing much to get it to run correctly? It looks to be a good low cost alternative to 110. 110 just hit $8.99 a gallon here. I think I'm done with it. By the way, good looki...

E85

I'm looking for input on switching over from 110 to E85. I have a 396/375 with 12:1 Compression with stock cast iron heads. I would probably just have Patrick at ProSystems build an E85 carb for my combination. I have an aluminum fuel cell and 1/2 aluminum fuel line. Will this cause any corrosion pr...

Re: Tire Size vs 60 foot and MPH

Thanks, this is good info. I'm not going to be jumping up too far in size, just an inch. Hopefully I won't lose a full tenth, if so maybe I can find a way to squeeze a little more power out of it to make up some of the loss.

Re: Flex Fan vs Electric Fan

Thanks for the input guys, I appreciate the knowledge. I've heard horror stories about flex fans as well, and I'd prefer not to become one of them. Thanks for the advice on the spal fans, I will definitely go that route.

Re: Tire Size vs 60 foot and MPH

Thanks for the reply, I know it's hard to tell until I try it I guess. I thought about upping the limiter 200 rpm and I'm sure I'd get through without hitting it, but I'm not sure what a basically stock 396/375 will hold up to. It's set at 7000rpm, it's stock rods, stock forged crank with ARP fasten...

Flex Fan vs Electric Fan

I'm currently running a flexalite fan rated to 10,000 rpm, the type that the blades flatten out at high rpm. Would I see any gain at all in E.T. by going to electric fans? I would still be running a belt driven mechanical water pump. Any experience or advise would be appreaciated.

Tire Size vs 60 foot and MPH

Ok, I am currently running 30-14.50-15 M&H cheater slicks on my car. It's a street/strip 4 speed camaro. The problem I have is that I hit my rev limiter just before the traps in a 1/4. I am looking at changing the rear tire to 31-13.50-15 Hoosier Quick Time Pro's to allow a little more RPM and M...

Amen brother! :thumb: We are quickly losing this country. We have laws and rules for a reason, we just ask that you live by these laws as we do and as our founders had intended. A tolerant nation is a destroyed one. I'm now stepping down off my soap box. :-)

Re: TKO 600 Race Use?

That's good to know Jim, I know every car is different but at least I know I'm somewhere in the right neighborhood. Looks like I just need to put my efforts into finding a little more power. The story of my life. :-)

Re: TKO 600 Race Use?

Thanks for the input guys, and Bill the broken parts are pretty ugly. Before I went to the dana I tore the gears out of a moser 12 bolt and decided it was time for something a little different. It's just nice to be able to talk to guys that have been there and can tell you what works without throwin...

Re: TKO 600 Race Use?

Thanks Bill, that's great information. I really appreciate the help. I agree with you on the the cheapest thing to break is traction. I have a lot to learn about adjustable clutches. Do you think at my power level I would see any benefit in E.T. by going to an adjsutable clutch set? Thanks again for...

Re: TKO 600 Race Use?

Thanks for the reply, I'm running a Ram 3000lb static pressure daiphram clutch with a 300 series disc right now. It's not forgiving at all. With about 9lbs of air in the cheater slicks I can get the car to dead hook. I know this uaually = breakage. The TKO will be synchro'd from Liberty's Gears but ...
