Re: How Much Should This Cost?
Does it help my case that I will be using E-85? Are most 454 able to be bored .100 or .125? The 505 combo Ya'll are talking about is a 4.35 bore BBC with a 4.25 stroke right? 6.135 or 6.385 rods? I am looking at Racing Junk for ideas as I plan/save. All my problems could be solved with $5,000,000 ! ...

How Much Should This Cost?
After my conversations with a few of you fine folks and searches on the internet I now realize a Blower motor whether BBC or SBC is fiscally prohibitive at this time. The 502 BBC is said to be able to make 1000+ HP and still hold together well as well as providing a foundation for a trully large &am...

Re: 370,377, 396,OR 422 CID 8-71 Blown SBC?
I would like to have less than (in the engine around $6000-8,000) and $32,000 in the whole Car or Sedan Delivery.
If I do all but the Blower setup myself with help is this possible?

Re: 370,377, 396,OR 422 CID 8-71 Blown SBC?
Would I gain anything by picking a BBC over a SBC to setup as a Blower Motor; for instance a 435 (+.040 over 427 or 454, steel 3.766 crank from a 396/402/427) , 483 ( 502 with a 4.52 bore not the 4.468 bore and a 427 steel crank) , 511 (427 Tall Deck Block or Aftermarket Block 4.31 inch bore and 4.3...

Progressive N2O & a Roots Blower
I read and have reread an article from Chevy High Performance/ Car Craft called "Huff & Puff". In this article they added a 175 Cheater Plate System under the carbs on a 8-71 Blown 454 BBC( 825 HP at 12PSI) they made 196 HP. I was wondering if I could use only 6-12 PSI of Boost instead...

Re: 370,377, 396,OR 422 CID 8-71 Blown SBC?
Sorry about the million questions and thanks for all the responces. It looks like most of the aftermarket engine blocks start at 3.98 bore and offer either 350 or 400 mains. A 350 finished bored to 4.10,5.85-6.0 rod, and either a 3.625 or 3.75 inch crank with 350 mains should build me a 383 or 396 S...

Re: 370,377, 396,OR 422 CID 8-71 Blown SBC?
Forgot to mention this engine will be a "Training Wheel" Pro-Street/Strip 11-10 Second combo. I will up the boost and/or add a N2O injection system as is necessary. After weighing your collective ideas a 377 SBC(4.155 bore & 3.48 inch crank in a Motown or Dart Little M block) sounds l...

370,377, 396,OR 422 CID 8-71 Blown SBC?
I have been doing alot of reading lately. Most of what I read is old Issues of Car Craft, Chevy High Performance, and Hot Rod Magazine. I would like to build an 8-71 Blown E-85 SBC based on a Motown block, AFR 215-227 CC Aluminum Heads, a BDS intake manifold, a Blower Shop Air to Water Intercooler, ...

Re: I am New Here
I don't have a builder as of yet. For a 1st build the list is shortened to one of the following a Fiberglass 1948-'53 Anglia/Thames ,1952 Fiberglass Henry J Kaiser, a Fiberglass 1941 Willys. I hang out with some guys who build tube frames for Rat Rods. My cousin also has built a few SBCs for Drag Ra...

I am New Here
Hello folks I have been watching Drag Racing since 1992 when I attended a Super Chevy Show. I am sloooooowly saving/planning to build a Pro-Street/Strip Car. I have a list of cars I'd love to build: I)Fiberglass 1948-1953 Anglia/Thames II) Datsun 510 Sedan III)Fiberglass Henry J Kaiser IV)1970's Che...

America is a melting pot a Nation composed of Immigrants from may cultures who came together to form One Nation.
Why doesn't anyone want to follow the rules anymore whether it be the Illegal Immigrants or Our Federal Gov't?
I agree ENOUGH is ENOUGH.
