Yeah, we get that alot...LOL There's alot of "what the hell is that?" in the pits  Everyone asks how it works. We always told them to watch us run. After consistant high 10 second passes, most were convinced it worked.

Re: A question about header size... 1 3/4" vs. 1 7/8"

Oh well...Gotta buy new headers anyway. The old set won't fit angle plug heads... I guess I'll be calloing Schoenfeld for a set of 1 7/8"

Re: Problem at the track...

I wouldn't take anybodys word on the springs. I would start by checking them myself. You've eliminted some other possibilities, but I don't understand why it would pull through this at higher RPM's. What is your shift point? Where is your fuel pressure guage plumbed in to your system? Is your guage ...

My thoughts on Predator carburetors.

I was asked about our carburetos in another of my threads. I thought I'd start a thread dedicated to the Predator carbs we use. In my opinion, the best carburetors made. When we first built this motor, we had 3 different holleys on it the first season. We went though "adjusting this and changin...

Re: Problem at the track...

Are you sure you've got enough valve spring for the lift? Has the car always done this, or did it start all of the sudden? What is your total timing? Have you tried any othertiming?

Also...The carbs we use are the ones WITHOUT an idle circuit...but...They still idle at 1000 RPM's. They idle better than any of the Holleys did...LOL

Re: A question about header size... 1 3/4" vs. 1 7/8"

Frank, What carbs are those ? Those are Predators. In my opinion, the best carburetors made. When we first built this motor, we had 3 different holleys on it the first season. We went though "adjusting this and changing that".. I had some of the Holley "experts" look at them, an...

A question about header size... 1 3/4" vs. 1 7/8"

We've got a new Shafiroff 14.4:1 434 with a .727" solid roller going in a '70 Camaro, with AFR 227heads. It seems as though everyone suggests 1 7/8" headers. In a perfect situation, I'd love to have a set, but the only one's I can find start at $600. We have a perfectly good set of 1 3/4&q...
