Don't forget new longer rods or taller compression height pistons to make up for the stroke loss.

Re: Todd Geisler--3754R Radial

I think I remember John Keesey ran a 1.18 60' with his turbo combination on the old tire. I know alot of the guys are in the 1.20 to 1.24 range usually.

Re: Todd Geisler--3754R Radial

Todd, care if I pick your brain about the old M/T radials? Not sure if you've been running them since your car is N/A but I figure you've got some info on them. How aggressive can you be with them? 17 to 18 psi a good starting point with a 10" rim? What kind of burnout do they like? Do they re...

Re: Side to side movement on 4 link Question

Car back halved 4 link, coil overs With the car on jack stands , rear end hanging, how much side to side movement is acceptable? Should not be any, zero if the housing centering device is in good working condition. Lower HP stuff we use a simple diagonal link, anything with any power gets an X-link...

Re: Lexan question

Well if it truly was lexan the only reason for it to star crack around the screws is either he tightened the screws way too tight, or it was a flat sheet and he was trying to force it to bend into a shape and using the screws to hold that curvature. I myself don't care for using flat sheet in cars. ...

Re: Lexan question

Don't go very tight with the screws. Typically that causes the panel to warp anyway. You absolutely sure it was lexan he has? I once bought a piece from Home Depot and turns out it wasn't Lexan, but another form of clear plastic and it cracked very easily. Lexan you can shear and bend on a sheetmeta...

Re: Gonna try my hand at Radials ..

If you have plenty of suspension adjustment the switch to radials shoudn't be too bad. Once the suspension is setup it's then all shock adjustments and power management. My car has 53%+ on the nose. With 3 1/2" travel up front my shocks are real tight on extension. The more power I put in it, t...

Re: Collector Size & Length - how short is too short?

Came up with 2 options.

2 1/4 to 2 3/8 step, or 2 3/8 straight. 4 1/2" collector.

Can't remember the primary or collector/exhaust lengths.

I just looked and it appears that the program only does N/A.

Re: Collector Size & Length - how short is too short?

Might be worth it to purchase Larry Meaux's Pipemax software. I used it to design my headers before I built them.

The program will give not only primary diameter & length, but also details on collector design and several options listing optimal and down.

Re: 66 GTO - stock suspension or ladder bars?

I'm at a crossroad here. I'm going to be buying a new rear end housing in the near future and I'm debating whether to stay with stock style suspension or just go to a ladder bar set up with DA coil overs. Any thoughts? I'm looking for more consistent launches. Old combo was... 3650lb 66 GTO 700 HP ...

Re: Some Progress on the Nova

I struggled at Holly Springs in April. I was just starting to get down the track when I broke the gear set in the tranny. It went from blowing the tires off to shaking them. The weight reduction I did last winter really screwed with the chassis setup. You shouldn't think 30 lbs off the front and 30...

Re: Some Progress on the Nova

Then at the same time, slicks are real tricky on a track that good. X2 We found on our Outlaw 10.5 customers that on a drag radial prep'd track the slicks will want to shake very badly on a regular tuneup. They have to throw more power at the tire, lower the wheelie bars and maybe a touch more air ...
