Re: A Fallen Legend

There will never be another Harold "Grumpy" Jenkins.
I just finsihed reading a book about him, Grumpy's Toys, and would recommend it to anyone. He had much more influence on the sport than most of us realize.
Sad news, indeed.............

Re: Big Block Chevy Build

A 496 costs the same to build as a 468.
Do yourself a favor and avoid chinese junk parts.
Consider Ohio Crank Shaft; good stuff at good prices:

Re: Need advice on fox front suspencion

I haven't looked, but I assume that none of the Mustang k-member suppliers are going to have motor mounts for a MoPar, so you will probably be looking at either Elephant Ears or a motor plate. If that's the case, your selection of any specific k-member doesn't seem too critical unless it's for heade...

Re: best heads

My suggestion: Call a couple of good head manufactors and talk to them about it. (The fly-by-night COMMUNIST chinese junk pedelers will try to sell you what ever they have in stock that day. Stick with Dart, Brodex, etc.) They will ask you how you intend to use them, displacement, rpm, cam, compress...

How About a Track, Owned by Racers, Run by Racers for Racers

http://sandpitdragway.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=sale&action=display&thread=4237 165 of us could put up $1K each (or any other combination of people and money @ $1k a share), form a corporation, elect a Board of Governors, buy MAD and hire a track manager of our choice to run it. We would...

Re: Trans pressure and converter coupling

I spoke with an old friend here in DoDa that has forgotten more about transmissions than I hope to ever know. He said that you want the "out" cooler line on a PowerGlide to have no more than 50 psi. He laso said that the cooling line diameter should be left at the stock 5/16" diameter...

Re: Trans pressure and converter coupling

Too much transmission pressure will push the torque converter forward, away from the transmission and wipe out the thrust bearing on the main bearing. Everyone has their own ideas about what is the correct pressure and how to limit it.
