Oil restrictors for Small Block Chevy
My son and I are putting together a 377 Small Block Chevy for drag racing and limited street use (it's 10 miles to the drag strip from my son's house). It's a relatively high rpm motor (cam peaks at 7800 rpm). Solid roller Comp cam, SS roller rockers, 400 block, AFR alum. heads, COLA 4340 crank, Lun...

Re: Need help with Nova 4 link launch
"Kinda hard to see real good on those poor quality videos, but looks like the wheelie bars are close to the ground to start with. The squat you're seeing is the tire wrapping up at the hit best I can tell. Real soft sidewall big slick is going to drop quite a bit at the hit. Can you raise the ...

Need help with Nova 4 link launch
My 69 Nova has a 4 link rear suspension, which is all new to me. We took it out to the track a little while back and had a little trouble hooking up as the day wore on. The wheelie bars are hitting the ground almost immediately and it seems the car is squatting a bit. Take a look at these launch vid...

Re: Back on (the) Track!
What tire pressure are you running and what is the weight of the car with the driver? And where are you as far as 60' right now? We started at 10 psi which gave the best time of the day (1st run of the day in the am). We tried lowering pressure to 9 psi with no improvement. We also played with the ...

Re: Back on (the) Track!
From the picture it looks like the wheelie bars are hitting early and unloading the tires. Raise them up until the front end gets too high. Yea, I noticed that last night when I was looking at the video frame by frame. The bars seem to hit almost immediately. Is that from the car/rear end rotating ...

Re: Back on (the) Track!
Thanks, I'm real excited at the potential of this car. I still have the yellow Nova, although it doesn't have an engine in it at this time.waterdog wrote: Sounds all good, the other day I was think about the thread about your yellow car, the new ride looks badass. Walt

Back on (the) Track!
Well, I haven’t posted anything for a while because, frankly, I haven’t really been racing much (none) in the last year or so. For those of you that remember, I started out with a 71 Nova with a warmed over 350 and 150 HP shot of N2O and was running 11.40’s. I added a roll cage and picked up a 640 H...

TH 400 Slip Yoke Travel
Question guys. I swapped out the TH350 in my Nova for a TH400 and swapped the driveshaft yoke for a 400 type yoke. The slip yoke travel from u-joint fully seated on the rear end yoke to slip yoke fully seated in the back of the trans is just under 1/2", which is too tight. Nova is a leaf spring...

Leaf Spring to Coilover Swap
My Camaro presently has ladder bars with mono leaf springs and some kind of non adustable shocks out back. I would like to switch to coilover shocks. Looks to be pretty easy to do, but I'm not sure how to figure out how much travel I should use. Any suggestions on how to figure this out? D...
