Re: revised pro comp heads?????
we used the bare heads because i wanted to touch up the ports as mentioned. i also had spare competition products stainless undercut valves to fit as well as 600 lift springs, 10 degree retainers and locks. so if you feel that you can run them as is for $649.00.....thats ok, but check out what quali...

Re: revised pro comp heads?????
well guys....we recieved our pro comp heads, they seem ok,they needed some clean up in the bowl areas(rough casting) and a little short side work. we also port matched an air gap using 1206 fel-pros. chambers seem ok, once again mild clean up. stud alignment to valves are ok (some have said this may...

hi guys, i have an 350 sbc in my shop that we are building for a friend. around 400 hp, street/strip. he is on a fairly tight budget so he was looking at pro-comp aluminum 190 cc heads from skip white......they are saying that they have revised these heads. i know the earlier heads were crappy, but ...

sbc pistons
hi guys, talking with an older hotrodder about sbc pistons. he claims that reversing sides with flatop pistons will reduce thrust on sidewalls. anyone ever heard of or tried this? if so are the gains noticed on a street rod engine, and is it worth the effort?
thanks, randy

Re: 400 sbc main studs
i have heard the main caps walking is common in the 400 blocks, did you have the 511 block align-honed prior to seeing the caps walk.... i have heard of others having this problem after installing studs, and feeling the cap bores were still within specs only to discover that they require align-honin...
