Re: 2 step
A friend of mine bought a '67 Chevelle that a guy had in SC. It was a bracket car with Deadenbear delay and 2 step with line locks. The car worked pretty good. Real consistant, but not real fast. It was set up to run a .500 tree with 2 step and line locks. Thought most folks with a delay box ran pro...

Re: Profiler SBC Heads?
I figure I can get the Profilers for $800, springs and retainers to .750" lift for $200, and valves for $130. The seats are already ground on the heads, so that will put me at $1,130. And I can assemble, install seals, check valve guides, and set springs up myself for a pretty good price, free!...

Re: anyone hear crane cams closed down
They have been buoght out. Supposedly they will restructure and keep going. Doesn't sound that way, if they closed the plant down.

Re: 60/40 Track1X Heads
Don't imagine anybody has a set of shaft rockers with the offset they're needing to sell cheap, huh??

60/40 Track1X Heads
Can anyone tell me if the Track1X heads with 60/40 valve spacing could cause problems with valve relief on my Ross pistons? I just have regular 23 deg pistons. I have no experience with the offset valve spacing such as these Track1X heads. Also, is it absolutely necessary to run shaft rock...

Re: Profiler SBC Heads?
John, I'm leaning real hard toward having them send me a set of the bare 210cc heads. I like what I see. Although, I'm a little skeptical of the flow numbers I've seen. Wondering if it's apples to apples. Thanks for the help John. I called them and they said the CNC heads would be ready in 5 or 6 we...

Re: Profiler SBC Heads?
Will do John. I sure would like to find someone who had a set of these 210 heads. I hate to be a Guinea pig. But dang, that ain't a bad deal. $400 each for bare castings.

Profiler SBC Heads?
Anybody know anything about these 210cc Profiler heads? Their flow numbers look pretty good, but I wonder what an independent flow test would show? Looks like a good deal. I've heard these are american made, unlike the patriots.

Looks like I missed my chance on the Vic Jr heads. Someone else has bought them. Now gotta find another set of heads somewhere. Any ideas?

Re: best sbc race intake manifold
Has anyone used a hurricane intake? Or a accurate comparison between it an a super victor, both being port matched? My goal of course is to go faster. Got some tax refund burning a hole in my pocket. Ive been running a holley strip dominator with a quick fuel 950. Dont see many at the tra...

Re: best sbc race intake manifold
You can't ask nor make the blanket statement ..."what is the best manifold for a sbc" without knowing the specifics of YOUR sbc along with RPM and intended use. 72 nova ,406 cid, 3120 pounds with me, 4.86 gear with powerglide. My car runs a 6.70 na with this converter with a 1.46 sixty. O...

I like Super Vic for 1st place. Brodix HVH and Dart are a close 2nd in my opinion.

Re: Rocker arm adjustment.
I no longer use the EO/IC method. I used to, until I went back and did each cylinder on tdc method and found them all loose. It probably works with smaller cams with less duration and overlap, but on a solid roller, you might be leaving something on the table. Well for sure it can't go wrong that w...

Re: Rocker arm adjustment.
I guess I'll do it the way you guys describe. Maybe there is a chance the lifter may not be on the base circle with certain cams. I never thought about it. Just always done it that way.
