Re: Looking to possibly change up combo
Going to a Pro Charger or ATI cost a lot of money, not the blower by its self but every other thing that is needed as well. My freind started his car with the ATI and now he is into it about 8k. as the engine had to be done again as well, but he does have 1200 hp. Sad thing is he now wants to take i...

Re: Blower Dynamics - Boost and Static / Dynamic Compression
Go to Wallace racing calculators to due the math. All the Calcs. you will need. And the cam open and closing points will have a lot to due with dynamic compression as well. You are starting off with a very low and safe static compression factor at 8 to 1. I am at 11 to 1 with my Turbo and at only 15...

Ah the best of both worlds, run low boost on the street, and turn it way up for the track.

Re: King Bearings?
Yes, and no issues, as far back threads will show I had bearing issues again and again due to the builder not checking things. When I built the engine I used King bearings and never had an issue again.

Re: High volume fuel systems on the street
Have you looked into the Race Pump? Its manual and puts out 450ga. an hour, the faster the engine goes the more it pumps, fuel keeps it cool and you can rebuild it if ever needed for $10. My friend put one on his car as well as he was running twin electric pumps and one broke again, we love the Race...

Re: Fuel Pumps?
Race Pump here. Not having to listen to all that noise is great and I don't have to turn it on either, and it won't just stop working all of a sudden as an electric pump will. 450 Gal. an hour and I can totally rebuild it for $10.
I find that hard to beat.

Rear Wing
There is a shop in Yuccipa, Ca. who I am told makes really good drag wings.
Does any one know the name or how I can get a hold of them??
A web search trying to find a wing is a joke.

Re: Can some one please explain Dynamic compression
That is very good reading, I also found this one as well. The benifit of knowing is so I know what I can and can't do. The first thing to understand is that "compression ratio" (CR) as it is usually talked about is best termed "static compression ratio". This is a simple concept ...

Can some one please explain Dynamic compression
Can any one please explain dynamic compression to me, and where it should be for a race engine. I have a 427cu SBC 4.125 pistons, 4" stroke, 6" rods @ 11-1 with the cam intake closing @ 71degrees ABDC. Which would put my Dynamic Compression: 2.96 Effective stroke 8.4 dynamic compression 16...

Re: Brake Question
I agree with Bill as far as the top hole, Top hole more pressure due to leverage Bottom hole more volume, less pressure I disagree though on a smaller bore, I don't see how that will increase pressure much, if at all. My thoughts are this, did you also install a proportioning valve?? Remember, Drum ...

Isn't funny how we all start to due one thing, then we end up changing everything.
That's why I say, figure out how fast you want to go, then build for allot more.

What cu. inch engine and at what RPM are you running it. If you have 1 1/2 headers, area is 1.75" per pipe X 4 (pipes per side) = 7" area of possible air flow. One 3" pipe = 7" of area air flow Just the math. Not all headed pipes are pushing air at the same time as well. Just som...

I use the springs and bushings still- MSD
Car starts nice and easy @ 8-10 degrees, cruse around the pits and so on.
By 2500 RPM its at 36-38 degrees.
Works for me.
But that's why the make different cars, different strokes for different folks.

.024 steel equal to the firewall thickness may be stitch welded in place, however if the OEM transmission tunnel is replaced with other than .024 thick welded steel, then the center floor X braces (#4) must be installed. So you can use a lighter gage material, however more frame work has to be added...
