Soslo,
For IC length, refer to the chart on page 132. If your car is properly sprung, you'll find those values to be a little aggressive so add four inches to every dimension.

I agree with Dot, except I'd place AFCO ahead of Santuff.

Re: 4 link adjustment on drag radial
Soslo,
You're getting a lot of great advice. You already know you shortened the IC, but listen to the advice about more rear weight and using the shocks. The tire psi recommendation also sounds good to me. By the way, what brand of shocks do you have (I hope they are not Aldan Eagles.)

Re: Spring rates
Bracketeer, Want-a-be is entirely correct and the important words for you to pay attention to are "stored energy." With a softer spring, which compresses more, so we can "preload" the spring more. The trick is to better use the amount of spring stroke you have available in your c...

Mako,
That's a tidy setup you have there!
I haven't see the splines twist on those torsion bars, but have seen the holes elongate on the bolt-through design.

Re: Anti rollbar ?s for my 69 nova
Nova, That comment about cutting up the stock floor gave me a smile. I helped install a Dick Miller unit on a early-70's Buick and we had to hack the daylights out of the car. I haven't seen the Comp Engineering unit, but if it can be installed with a minimum of cutting, that's good. I would simply ...

Currie Enterprises makes a rebuildable rod end that can be used on the street. It is used on off-road trucks that also see street use.

I agree with the comment that control arms, alone, won't help. What brand of shocks do you have?

Re: Tapered Bolts for Steering Arms/Tie Rod Ends
All the advice on this question is good. David's suggestion to drill the taper out is the most common in drag racing. John's thought that oval racers will have something is also true. They (companies like Allstar) have bumpsteer kits that fit most common GM spindles.

Re: Anti rollbar ?s for my 69 nova
The advantage of the antiroll bar is that it reduces roll-rotation during the launch and gear changes. This will help the car launch and drive in a straight line. Yes, you will be able to use your old shocks, assuming they were in good shape before you added the anti-roll bar. Brand names: I'd look ...

You're right, I did write about that and it does my heart glad to read that you remember the article. You should see the look on my student's faces when I talk about this in the seminar. The important thing to remember is that, when there is a shoulder on the bolt, the threaded length of the bolt is...

Howdy Novaz,
Biltit is right.
The sliders are a much better advancement over shackles.

Re: How much antisquat is too much?
Vanilla, Is the truck built yet? Have you commited to one suspension versus another (ladder bar versus foutlink?) You're right to look at wheelbase and also correct to consider anti-quat values. Keeping both points in mind, I suggest that you install a pair of long ladder bars. You've got all that r...

If you're looking for quality springs, go with HyperCo. They are distributed by Strange Engineering and are the best springs in all of motorsports. F-1 and Champ car guys use them and they have a life-time warranty not to lose free height or lose spring rate.
I hope this helps,

Re: I've got a challenge for you...long wheelbase
Ultimately, you won't be happy until you put a fourlink in that truck. In the meantime, the idea you have about converting the leaf spring into a modified fourlink has been done before. Chrysler tried it in the Super Stock cars of the 60's. They called it the Leaf-Link Suspension. The added link was...
