Re: Go To Guy

[quote="John_Heard"] From what I've heard Special Ed's not like that in person. He just seems to get a big kick out of stirring shit up online, and that's fine - but it's not an attitude that is welcome here. I know I may catch flak but he is from the east coast as am I, so I feel I need t...

Re: Covans dash inserts

Thanks for the help. I'm not to good with fiberglass so maybe some 16 awg sheet-metal might get used. Right now I have my water and oil mounted to the steering column and the volt guage mounted under the dash. My tach is mounted on the pilar post using a mounting pod made by Autometer. That's a nice...

Re: Covans dash inserts

Hey Harry,

I like that look. What material did they use to fill in those area's and even down where the wiper switch would have been?

They are 2-5/8" gauges correct?

thanks

Re: Gauge Lights

New question?

How about tach lighting?

Should I hooked it up to the switch or wire it so that it's on when the ignition is turned on?

Thanks

Re: Removing the innner fender wells?

When I removed my heater box out of my 69 camaro, I took a piece of 16awg metal and welded it in to cover the opening. Now they sell pieces to just bolt over the box. Do a search to see if anyone offers this for your car? It's a lot easier to bolt on a cover then to do all the repair work to make th...

Re: Driveshafts

Thanks I appreciate all the advice. I also saw the info on the MW site about critical speed. With a 50" shaft, the 3-1/2" it's 7968 and with the 3" it's 6885. I"m looking to shift somewhere between 6000-6500 rpm. My motor is only around 520hp and if I decide to spray it, I may on...

Re: Firebird Hood

I think you'll be ok putting that blower under the hood of your car. I had a blower on my 327 in my 68 Camaro and used the stock cowl hood and I had just enough room for clearance and I'm sure your cowl is a lot taller then the factory cowl. I played around with different pulley's and had that thing...

Re: Firebird Hood

That look wild.....

How hard is it to work with fiberglass? The reason I ask, I've been playing around with the thought of adding an aero scoop to my factory height cowl, but I've never messed with fiberglass except for fiber hair filler.

Thanks

Re: Gauge Lights

Well there all hooked up so I guess this means I gonna be going rounds at night..... I have all my light working off of a toggle switch, which I still don't understand why NHRA needs to having a working light on the back of your car during the day, but instead of just one, I gave them tail lights, m...

Re: Gauge Lights

The car will only be on the strip.

My buddy from S&W Racecars just told me, "The only people who don't are the ones that plan on losing before dark"

I guess with that in mind, I better hook them up....

Boy my project list just keeps getting bigger and bigger..

thanks
