it will increase the slippage , but will bring the rpm down some also

Do NOT try to use that converter with a trans brake! That converter was not intended for a trans brake and you will brake it , that would make B&M look bad when it was not their fault as that converter is NOT designed to take the abuse a trans brake will put on it. The motor should make peak HP ...

You still need to use a nut with the bolt. the threads in the converter pad serve as a "jam" to the nut and keep them from backing off. Let me know how the converter works once you try it. Marty

i meant if you are pulling out timing on the launch to calm it down , then you can add some timing back in and it will cleanup the graph in the first 1.5 seconds of the run. And you mentioned the carbs were alittle "fat" , if you are running rich on fuel mix that will slow the car down

the converter looks pretty good actually. And coming from a guy who wants to sell you a converter , i think the converter is not the first place to start tuning this combo. how much timing are you launching on ? are you pulling timing on the launch and ramping it in? You may want to tune those carbs...

I design the converter around the power curve of the motor using 10W as the base and then we change fluid viscosity for fine tuning. Call me and we can bust out a converter super fast for you. Marty Chance

And yes we have used 50W hydraulic fluid or even motor oil in the trans before. One of the outlaw 10.5 cars from the GA area used 50W in there nitrous car for years

we use different viscosity fluids for different results. A lighter fluid will flash stall higher and a heavier fluid will flash stall less and the standard weight is approx 10 weight on trans fluid (type f). if your trans lasted twice as long on type f than hydraulic fluid i do not think it was due ...

several things are wrong here and they all point to the converter. 1 10" is way too large of fluid coupling for a nat asp small block with 3.750 stroke 2 spragless is NOT what you want for 1/4 mile racing (will always make heat) 3 the flatline you see after the shift is mostly due to converter ...

the 10w will work but if you are looking for a higher flash stall then the light weight is what you want. I could not find it on ams oil web site and i have not used the ams oil myself but have had many customers that used it with great success. You can call Red Line and order their light weight syn...
