Re: Converter for methanol

that says that you lost low rpm power which should not happen if the mechanical injection is tuned correctly and has proper sized nozzles. Sounds more like a tuning issue. If you are changing to inj alky , i would recommend trying the converter just as it is to get a baseline as to how it works. Als...

Re: IN CAR VIDEO.. WHATS IT FLASHING TOO?

It flashes about 5000 . shifts at 7000 and drops to about 6000 which is about right, could be a little less with the 3 speed. Note you only gain about 100 rpm from 3rd gear shift to finish line!!! You could raise the stall and that would help but you would gain more by changing the rear end gear rat...

Re: Footbraking vs RPM

this varies with every combo. things like large carb, cam shaft & heads may require you to leave at a higher rpm to avoid a stumble but motors that make a lot of torque right off idle will flash the converter higher by launching at a lower rpm. So there is no absolute answer that is right for al...

Re: 10" faster than 8" ?

i would start with putting the stall the same as the 10" . The 8" if built right has the potential to be more effecient than the 10"

Re: 10" faster than 8" ?

once the 8"is restalled to flash higher the 8" will be faster. the smaller diameter and less weight take less HP to turn therefore more power makes it to the rear tires. Dont give up on your 8" , let your converter man change the flash stall and you will love it

Re: Stators Part 2

looks like a stage 5,4 & 2.5
the effect you get by milling a slot or hole varies with the placement of the slot or hole. Here you increase flow only after the stator goes active

Re: bolt together converters got a few????

Q- bolt together for N/A and stator change for N2O yes you can do a converter this way but you want to know your priority- do you want this ultimately to be a nitrous converter with a N/A stator for starting out with OR a N/A converter with a stator for occasional nitrous use. Also the amount of nit...

Re: Could converter be bad?

OK if the mph varies 96-104 something is way wrong. ? converter fins pulled ,blocking fluid flow worse on some passes than others? (check for debris in fluid) ? tire spin you dont know is happening? ? weak ignition system? just a few of the gremlins that mey be haunting you. You may have to do proce...

Re: Could converter be bad?

Actually sounds like the converter may be just a little too tight. (as your description of the shift recovery) what rpm do you cross the finish line with this converter?

Re: Could converter be bad?

possible that the sprag in the converter is broke or it may simply be too tight for your motor. where does your motor make peak HP and peak TQ?
