Re: Moonshine and juice???
better double check the numbers NX gives you. i spoke with them also. the e85 nitrous tune up they suggested was so lean, it would have melted my pistons. maybe it depends on which technician you speak with. either way, it will be good to check your fuel flows against your known gas baselines and th...

Re: Moonshine and juice???
So far, so good with running E85 in my combination for the past 6-8 months. Healthy SBC 400, 13ish to 1, good heads, roller valve train, big shot plate, etc. Plug reading on E85 is tough because they are white most of the time if your tune up is close. The O2 wideband helped confirm the tune up is p...

Re: SCAT ROTATING ASSEMBLIES
I have had good luck with the scat forged 4340 crankshafts. Used it reliably over 1200hp in my SBC. On my current SBC combination, I am using E85. It runs just as good as C16 at 13:1. The carb will set you back 6-800 bucks, but you will make it up buying fuel. Lastly, you ought to trim down your plu...

Re: pulling timing out for nos
my conventional head sbc, seems to like 3 to 4 degrees per 100 shot retard.
i have tried to be "safe" before by pulling more and ended up hurting pistons with unburnt fuel under the top ring and lifted the top land.
18 is too much for 300.
12 is plenty to start with.

Re: what oil is everyone running in there engines
Depends on what you want to do. If you need the extra 15 hp and .05 on the time slip, then the watery oil is faster. Royal purple #9 is 0W20 and most NA heads up guys run the thin stuff. But it costs plenty and needs changed often. My bearing clearances are not set up for that, so the semi-synthetic...

Re: A-Body rear suspension setup
the books will tell you, and I agree, to center the wheel in the well with the lower adjustments, not upper. set the upper lengths to get the desired pinion angle. set the upper angle vs. the lower angle to get the desired IC location and anti-squat leaving characteristics. guessing for rear spring ...

Jason,
That is my cell.
I will be out of town on Sat at a funeral.
You are still welcome to drop off stuff to not carry around. I will leave word with the other dudes in my booth.
If you are there Friday, see you then.

Re: Wichita swap meet
I have had a booth the past few years.
Pretty fun event, certainly not getting rich on anything, but getting rid of a few items.
Dragstuff guys can drop off your items in my booth if you don't want to carry them around all day.
Far SW corner of main building.
Call if you need.

Re: Master cylinder help
the master cylinder off a 85 chevy 1/2 ton 4x4 has a 1" bore, alum body and plastic resevoir. bolts on. move the pump rod from the bottom hole to the top hole on the brake pedal arm for more pressure.

Re: Bumps Suck - what to do about them?
1st - loosen the suspension
2nd - pull out 3-4 degrees timing for 1/2 second over that period.
your car will be faster like that vs. riding the dots.
