Been a while since I posted an update. While it's taken way longer than I hoped, we are getting closer... http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc117/1320quick/DSCN2035.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc117/1320quick/DSCF0128.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc117/1320quick/DSCF0129.jpg

Re: Anybody ever bought a Shafiroff Short Block?

As I posted earlier, in 2002 I purchased a 540 Sportsman. Even had Shafiroff freshen it up after 3 years. I had a new engine builder rebuild it this year and he found out the deck height was 10 thou different between the driver and pass side. Really disappointed that SSRE couldn't even do the machin...

Great that is what I have been looking for. Did it take you long to get used to not seeing the stock cowl panel. Yea, I'm still not use to it. I ordered the hood that works with the stock cowl panel but they sent me the extended hood instead. I hope to get it painted in the next week or two so hope...

I know the M/T slicks have used have "wear holes" in tread. You can typically judge the amount of rubber left on them by the depth of the holes. In my experience, with a heavy car on a small slick, the sidewalls go way before the tread. If you purchased them new, looking at the 60's in you...

I know you did Quick, P.K.R.E. will never let you down. Been with him for about 8 years now and always made it right. MOOSE Yea, I was up at PKRE yesterday to see my bullet. PK does some trick stuff. I'm so excited for my new piece to get finished. Paul's customer service and local track support is...

It's disappointing to hear people are having problems with stuff from Shafiroff. I hope SSRE does right by you guys. I bought a 540 sportsman from them in 2002. It had eagle rods but upgraded Callies crank. We beat the dog crap out of that motor for 6 years on the street and the track. It carried ou...

Looking Good! When is the first outing? Hoping for June 7th. Got to get the anti-roll bar put in this weekend and then we are just waiting for the engine to get done. Been waiting for the heads for almost 3 and a half months now. I heard they were being cut on the cnc machine last thursday so they ...

My Nova upgrades

Hi guys, Thought I post a few pics of the upgrades that I've been doing to my 71 Nova over the Winter. Taking a bit longer than I hoped but it should be nice when they are done. http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc117/1320quick/DSCF0029.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc117/1320quick/DSCF004...

I like it, it's probably a little lighter than having the steel cowl but mainly I like the looks of it better than the regular cowl. Thanks John. I took the steel cowl panel off tonight and tried the hood that way. That look might be growing on me. Did you block off the holes in the body that are u...

Yeah guess so, I didn't know it was on the Nova page lol. But yes, that's the one that combines the cowl panel and hood. What's your opinion on the hood? The reason I asked is I ordered a VFN 5" cowl hood for my 71 Nova and wanted the one that worked with the original cowl panel. They sent me ...
