Re: drag engine questions. 383 sbc
thanks for the replies all.
i feel a realistic target is 500-525 but my buddy thinks it should be closer to 600.
he is looking into upping the compression to 14.1 since everyone is now saying that is safe with e85 fuel

john heard, door weight question
hi, i saw your blog post cutting the door and taking out some poundage.
my question is, what does the stock door weigh after all the weight reduction you did?
thanks

Re: N/F RATIO'S
your converter may not be too tight.
If you are pulling a lot of timing at the hit, that could be costing power, which is slowing your 60' down,
and it is also causing the converter to flash at a lower rpm because it is being hit with less torque.
I would try putting timing back in at the hit

Hey Bruce, Even the owners are involved now and asked me to give them a chance hehe. give them a CHANCE. lol. btw, im in the same boat as you. my $300 redneck converter is showing 14% slip and that bugs me. Re: Ready once again!
hey supernova, what rpm did you cross the line at on that 120mph pass. i suspect that you might have a lot of torque converter slip example, if you have a 28" tire, 3.73 gears and crossed at 6500rpms, at 120mph, thats 21% slip. ouch 8% slip which is decent, would have you crossing at a mere 580...
