We broke a 31 spline axle (Moser) in 12 passes on Drag Radial tires and that is the axle Moser recommended. Went to 35 spline and now one of the axles is bent at the flange.

I would try some good mufflers cirle track cars spend most of their time at high rpm's they would'nt need the back pressure

Exactly on the water pump try the 180 thermostat. The fuel octane won't affect the temp unless it was running real lean.

If you are reffering to Supertrapp adj. mufflers I think they would cause back pressure problems more than likely a lack of rather than too much.A good exhaust system will make a big difference.

I would think that it would be caused by back pressure in the exhaust. But a compression test would be a good idea.

A higher deg. thermostat keeps the coolant in the radiator longer which helps pull the heat out of the motor.A 160 Deg. thermostat keeps your coolant flowing all the time never allowing it to cool off if this makes sense. The MT drag radials are a good tire you won't get much wear out of them for street use probably better to have an extra set of wheels. The eye in the unilite will burn out. The magnetic breakerless would be better. I would change tires and play with your timing at the track to see what the car seems...

First off get rid of the points distributor I would use an HEI or MSD distributor not a big fan of the mallory unilite. How does the car leave? What are your 60ft times? Have you played with your timing any to see if that helps? Just some ideas!!!!

Have you checked timing? What about fuel pressure while driving?
