Re: Ok, so I need some opinions...
He may be looking for a bigger pump, but we are going to flow test @ pressure his current pump first. The carbs are BG 750's, as far as "boost referenced" (I'm not sure what that means) he has a vac/boost line running from below the blower to both carbs. He said it makes the power valves w...

Re: Blower Dynamics - Boost and Static / Dynamic Compression
Rob is right, you'lle need more spring. Even the recommended Comp springs, did not work for me. The Comp springs had 160 lb seat pressure @ my installed height (1.90") and the valves would float @ 5700 rpm. I think Comp forgot to allow for boost. 15 psi boost pushing against my 2.08" intak...

Re: Blower Dynamics - Boost and Static / Dynamic Compression
, tell me what cam you're running . I know you have a small block, but they should have a similar grind for my big block. Are you using a standard CompCams number or is it a custom grind ? And what type of lifters are you using ? Standard grind #300BR-14, same grind # for BBC. Comp specs and part# ...

Re: Blower Dynamics - Boost and Static / Dynamic Compression
help me understand the benefit of this cam in a naturally aspirated motor. How does closing the intake 83* ABDC help a NA motor ? Air speed (port velocity) @ 3500+ rpm, the air speed is greater than the small amount of compression that takes place at the begining of the stroke. Cylinder filling is ...

Re: Blower Dynamics - Boost and Static / Dynamic Compression
, but I'm still trying to digest how the cam open/close event timing affects the realized compression values. If it's as simple as determining effective stroke, that is, from the moment you actually begin a true hermetic compression cycle until you achieve TDC, then the numbers that Bill quoted fro...

Re: Blower Dynamics - Boost and Static / Dynamic Compression
Harry, see if this helps. To figure dynamic C/R, I like to use this online calc http://www.rbracing-rsr.com/comprAdvHD.htm Here are my results for your 427 @ 10psi boost and 1000 foot DA. 11.41 : 1 http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a224/sc68z28/dynamic.jpg I was able to find your cam in my dyno sim ...

Re: Ok, so I need some opinions...
Holy geezo !!! I just re-read that. An 871 on a small-block ? 14 lbs of boost ought to make for an interesting cruise to the burger shop !!!! Should be a fun ride, if it stays together. He has had all kinds of problems in the past, hoping I can help him this time. I may have questions for you...

Re: Ok, so I need some opinions...
No, I don't use a pump speed controller, at least not yet. Geezo, it's like I stepped off into the twilite zone with this fuel thing. I honestly thought that installing a a high volume pump with a full return system would set me up forever and ever, amen. And I'm not saying you need a controller ??...

Re: You and your ride... Post it here get to know everyone...
I just want it to be *faster* at the racing part  So, the adventure continues.... Been there ;) said all that. First I just needed a 10 sec pass. Then low 10's on demand. Once there, you need that single digit time slip to be cool 8-) . And with just a lil more work it will go low 9's. At ...

Now that's interesting, thanks for sharing the info Dave
John, my tires look just like yours, (good pic!) and been reading this thread since the begining.

Re: Water / Methanol Injection used with Carbureted Engines
How did you settle on that vendor ? Did you have to 'recurve' thier system after installation ? Is your MAP sensor an electric sending unit ? I'll need to add an AFR setup to help me gather metrics on fuel / air mix. I don't know otherwise how to determine the proper jetting, etc., etc. Which raise...

Re: Water / Methanol Injection used with Carbureted Engines
, whose injection system did you use, and does it integrate into your EFI system ? I'm using Julio's kit from http://www.alkycontrol.com/ It stands alone, but takes it's boost signal from the EFI's MAP sensor. Keep me posted if you do this, I have a buddy (6-71) that will be interested if you can g...
