I have almost the same size radiator in my nova. I got a rad cover from a 70 chevelle and trimmed I think a inch or so on each side and it fit like a glove. I will try to find a pic of it.

I had the same problem with my chevy motor.Second time around i tapped the holes and used arp thread sealer and as soon as the coolant system built up psi it started to leak again. Went and got a bottle of Moroso block sealer and no more leaks. Hasnt leaked a drop since.
