Re: Having problem with N20 wiring.
Not sure what comes in the NX kit.. But I know some of them run a diode in the relay to keep current from flowing the wrong way on the coil. It would appear these don't have a diode on the coil.

Any guesses on what these changes will net for a ET drop?
Last time out my 63 Chevy truck weighed 3,850 with me in it and a half tank of gas. It went a best of 11.96 @ 113mph NA with a 1.67 60' spinning about 3-4 feet out for about 20' or so crossing the traps in second gear due to the 3.73/30' tire and 7,100 rpm. I think it was reacting like it did in the...

Re: Powerglide parts or kit??
This would be for a street strip combo. Last time on the dyno I made 430rwhp through a 4L80E with the converter locked (390rwhp unlocked). I also have a 2 stage kit jetted for 100 in the fist stage and an additional 200 in the second stage. Truck should weigh close to 3,400lbs with me in it and a gl...

Powerglide parts or kit??
So at my new job (working for a dealer selling cars/trucks) I spoke to the head trans guy. He would be willing to put a glide together for me if I supply the parts. So, I'm wanting to know what are the good parts :) Trans brake Shift kit Clutches Bands All the stuff I need.. Is there a kit that othe...

Is a glide the right choice?
Well, I have been bouncing the idea of going to a glide in my truck for a while. For those of you that are not familar with 4L80E's they are essentially a TH400 with an overdrive. That is what is in it now. My 63 pick up weighed in at 3,840 with me in it last time it went down the track. At that wei...

Jim,
How did the full slip look? Similar 60's or did those change pretty drastically too? I'm assuming there were no other changes as well?

What is 300lbs worth in a 11.9x-12.0x vehicle?
I've heard varing things. 100lbs of sprung weight being worth .1 and I've heard it's not really worth more than .05. Can any of you tell me from experiance? I'm trying to go 11.50na this year. Planed changes: 4.56's from 3.73's (running a 30" tire with a 4L80E, but also have a 2 stage kit) Goin...

Re: Just how old are your "New" racing tires?
My "Brand New" ET Drag radials that were on back order for ever came in to me in April/08 are date coded 308.. So is that the 3rd week in 08 or the 30th week in 08.. Can't be the 30th week as that would put it the week of July 20-26th.. If they were made the 3rd week in 08, why did it take...

Re: Buying a 63 nova.. Need help..
I was thinking something around a 230* @ .050 (280* at .006) on the intake and milling the heads and or putting thinner gaskets to achieve roughly 8.5-1 DCR. From what I understand, that's about the max you should go running pump gas. In that case, I'd be closer to 11-1 cr using that intake lobe on ...

Sounds like it wouldn't be that far of an 11.xx with:
Vortec heads
Decent cam
Performer RPM
750 carb
Headers
3,000 - 3,500 stall
Caltracs
MT Drag Radials

Buying a 63 nova.. Need help..
I'm working a deal with a buddy who has a 63 nova. I'm putting a LS1 in his 67 Camaro in partial trade for the Nova. Nova has clean paint, full interior sitting there, new head liner, carpet, all glass is there and good. Basically all the parts are there to put it back together and it will be pretty...

Re: Glass hood or gears
At best I could see the hood reducing ET about .04-.06 max based on 40-60lbs.. What might a 3.73 to 4.56 gear swap do as far as ET?
