Re: Sometimes you win and sometimes you loose
When I first had it weighed the only fiberglass was the hood, deck lid, bumpers, everything else is factory, even the glass. It was #3000. Since then I put in rear and quarter lexan windows, gutted the doors, but still have factory glass, tubular radiator support, light weight bumper brackets, remo...

Re: Sometimes you win and sometimes you loose
Looking for 13:1 compression, solid roller with a lift between .725" and.750", Victor R intake with a 1050 Dominator. No plate with this motor. The new goal is for a motor that is 700+ HP and I've been trying to find more weighs to get the weight of the car down. The big issue with that i...

Re: Sometimes you win and sometimes you loose
For heads, we're going to Scott Foxwell, and he's going to work over a set of ProMaxx heads for us. The goal with this motor is simple, 700HP with the possibilities of a few extra and Scott told me that he has had a lot of good success with these heads and 700HP is pretty easy to get out of them. I...

First fitment of a bunch of new hardware. Believe it or not, there's a big block chevy under all that aluminum. http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii137/arkwoo/Dress_rehearsal_zpscgukpjob.jpg Another view, note you can barely see the new cam sync/crank trigger sensor ports tucked under the water pum...

Re: Sometimes you win and sometimes you loose
Hey Harry, Here's what's going on. Called a new shop and they told me that they could verify the area for me, when I would bring the block but they would prefer checking the entire block just to be sure. I get there and the owner looked at the "crack" and said that is no crack, it's a rus...

Re: Sometimes you win and sometimes you loose
So whats cooking ? Inquiring minds want an update. Did you find another shop to check that block out ? I'm having issues finding quality machine work in my area - most of the mom and pop shops are gone around here it seems. Used to be you can find a machine shop pretty easily - maybe it's all of the...

And on we go...
Getting a bit closer to dyno time. It really doesn't look like it but it has taken a lot of work to get to this point... Next up, heads, oil pump, pan, intake, blower, and so on. I'll post pix with progress :smt003 http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii137/arkwoo/wikd69_2016_Build_1_zpsop10bb2d.jpg

Re: Mark IV BBC LS2 Cam Sync and Crank Trigger Solution
I get it, just didn't realize the Holley took care of advance and retard. I assume you get where things are initially with a timing light, tell the computer where it's "at" then it can adjust from there. Wonder if you have to spin it over on the starter with plugs out to find your initial...

Re: Mark IV BBC LS2 Cam Sync and Crank Trigger Solution
Don't you need a way to adjust the sensor position for timing adjustments? MAJOR DISCLAIMER: I don't have access to software code inside the Holley ECU - the methods and processes I speak to below are what I expect the Holley software designers have utilized. One thing I've learned from doing IT fo...

Re: Mark IV BBC LS2 Cam Sync and Crank Trigger Solution
Holley HP and yes, the engine management side of them is all the same including the software. So far the HP has suited my needs and I have not had the need for the additional I/O stuff, trans control, or DBW, especially since I have done the digital dash which allows some additional I/O options. On...

Re: Mark IV BBC LS2 Cam Sync and Crank Trigger Solution
Interesting idea, I like it. For my BBC setup in the mustang, I was just going to run the pickup in the distributor for the cam signal and a standard holley crank trigger. I have to run the distributor in order to drive the oil pump as mine is staying wet sump, but I see where you are going and you...

Re: Mark IV BBC LS2 Cam Sync and Crank Trigger Solution
I like. A modified crank trigger wheel and a different sensor was the first thing I thought of. I assume you went with a cam wheel for packaging reasons? Yeah. I figured since I was going to the trouble of hanging a cam sync on the front of the cam I might just as well include a crank trigger solut...
