Re: High compression?
My motor is almost 15 to 1, probaly a little less, and I spray a 32 jet on it. Supposedly around 300 hp. I see engines all the time at 15 to 1 with alot on them. With high cr your nitrous tune up is less forgiving though.

Re: Third Stage
I seen a discussion on this and the plates under the carbs is not a good idea. People say they distribute uneven on a tunnelram. I'd go with a plenum style system. I would also put it on a timer, I never was a fan of push buttons.

Re: timing for 125 hp fogger
Steve is obviously a really smart guy, because he has a lot fast cars. The main reason I chose Monte is because he was so helpful even before he flowed my stuff. Telling me why stuff happened and what to do to fix it. Then he throws out numbers to prove it. He never once tried to get my business or ...

Re: timing for 125 hp fogger
Monte Smith did mine. I really don't know exactly how much it cost,it's been awhile, but I already had the system and he replumbed it and flowed it. I want to say it was $500 just to flow it. A whole system from him is around $1500. Like yoiu said I just wanted to make sure everything was working ri...

Re: timing for 125 hp fogger
Well why would I need to know the n/f ratio? He gave me a couple of tune ups. Both jet numbers, timing, and fuel pressure. I've even called him on saturday night with a question. Turned out to be an electrical though. Think I got the electrical fixed so maybe I can finally make a good nitrous pass.

Re: timing for 125 hp fogger
Those are N/F ratios out of Dave Koehlers Nitrous Master software which is based on orifice size, pressure, etc. Of course verifying the flow rates in lbs per hr is more accurate, but assuming everything is up to snuff in the system then I've found it's reasonably accurate. I've flowed my own stuff...

Re: timing for 125 hp fogger
I'd go with at least four jet spread. With that low of a horsepower running rich will take you a while to hurt it, if ever. I'd also pull more timing than you think it needs, get the tune up clean then add timing back as needed. If you end up taking the pressure down into the 4 psi range i'd add mor...

Re: How fat is to fat
FOGGER..... PRO-RACE NOS With a fogger you can be a little sharper on the tune. The point I was trying to make is both ratios should be close. If your plugs are nice and clean and it reads upper 12’s I wouldn’t lose sleep over it. Monte runs a pro mod car way in the 13’s. It’s 800 c.i. spraying God...

Re: How fat is to fat
Just got an oxygen sensor set up with 2 sensors one in each header. What is a good a/f on motor and then on NOS? Going out to try it this weekend if anyone is racing on the 4th around here. Thanks... I've seen guys have thier motors in the 13 to 1 range on the spray but i'd say at least 11 to 1 or ...

Re: PLUG READING FOR A NITROUS MOTOR
ar3932 is the same as a ngk -10. Because autolites have the really think ground strap they are hard to burn off. If you burn an autolite, you probably got a ring. Ngk's provide a "fuse" with the weaker strap. Ngk are also easier to read. I always run ngk's, and luckily have never burned a ...

Re: How fat is to fat
The theory I’ve heard is that extra fuel washes off lubrication in the cylinder walls causing heat in the ring lands. This leads to loss of seal letting oil in the chamber. Oil and nitrous aren’t good buddies. As I posted before I run a 32n 24f at 5lbs tune and it’s not too lean. There are local guy...

Re: PLUG READING FOR A NITROUS MOTOR
That's a hell of a motor man. Have you ever burnt the straps off any of your plugs? Just seems like alot more timing that other 18 degree motors run. 700 hp is a pretty good hit with -8 plugs and c-16 gas. I would use 10's if not even going to 11's. I run 10's in my motor. If the 10's did look nast...

Re: PLUG READING FOR A NITROUS MOTOR
Could be right. I was running 250hp on the second shot at the time I talked with Mike. I increased that to 300 at the last meet and advanced the timing 1 degree on each stage. I'll take your advice and go back to 10's. I have a heap of them in my spares anyway. I'm mainly concerned about getting th...

Re: How fat is to fat
It's a hell of a debate thats for sure. Hey craig if you don't mind I was wondering what nitrous and fuel jet your running, and what your timing is with the nitrous on. I really understand if you don't want to say though. I've just heard guy talking about 20 and 25 jet spreads on plates at 5 to 6lbs...
