We run a 28x10.5 ET drag for now. Going to start testing on a 275x60-15 Drag radial so we can run some Wild street races in PSCA.

The silver Nova in the other lane went 9.90@142 on that pass. This is a stock suspended small tire heads up class. It took a 9.01@150 to win the class last Sunday.

video of my Nova

Was cruising another site this am and came across a video of my Nova from last weekend. This was first round of the heads up class I run. My Nova is the green one in the near lane. The car went 9.47@147MPH on that pass. By the way, the Density Altitude was 9985ft on this pass. http://s146.photobucke...

I believe in this case, the "mother bottle" would be the big 100+lb bottle that you fill all the smaller 10lb and 15lb bottles with. I know years ago, this was done alot as they didn't really know any better. It's funny that I still see this done in this day and age after so many stories l...

Funny that you ask! I actually figured it out yesterday. The car had still not made a single clean pass all year long so last week we added a ProLogger wideband O2 setup on the car. It records the A/F ratio and RPM for the whole pass. When looking at the log, you can see that everytime the RPM got t...

My buddy has a two stage SpeedTech diff plate on his 406ci small block. He loves it! The car has been 9.21 at 151mph using that plate. He picked up 4 tenths going from his old plate setup to this one. Sorry, can't remember what he took off it. I don't remember him saying anything about it being diff...

I use them as well as the Cal-trac bars. So far, I'm very happy with them. The car has run 60 foot times in the 1.40 range. The guys at Calvert racing have been a lot of help with getting right spring rates and getting the setup fine tuned. I switched from a Landrum multi-leaf drag spring to the mon...

I've owned this car since 1992. The previous owner was a smoker and had tried to toss a butt out the window and it landed in the back seat and caused a pretty bad fire. That car was pretty much a mess when I drug it home.

What kind of pump are you runing for the nitrous ? Is the pressure stable with the system on ? I'm running a Product Engineering 460GPH pump for both the engine and the nitrous. It's -12 from the cell to the pump and then -10 to the front of the car. When the car is going down the track, I can't wa...

left field tune-up?

So I'm looking for thoughts and opinions on this one. I've been having problems getting my car to respond to my nitrous tuneup so as a last resort, I decided to run it on the wheel dyno yesterday. This is a gasoline 548ci bbc, 14.1 comp, Dart 345 pro1's, King demon 1190 and a fogger with .032n and ....

I run a 28x10.5 MT E/T drag on a 15x8 Weld Draglite. I've been doing that for years and I've never had any problems with it. I use the 15x8 wheel to cut down on the section width so they don't rub. Darn small Nova wheelwells! LOL

I've got a 71 Nova as well. I run a 28 10.5x15 M/T ET drag slick on my car. I use the Calvert split mono-leaf's on my car and they are installed in the stock location. I did have to relocate the shocks to the inside of the springs. I just installed an homemade upper shock mount between the framerail...

Like John, I also use the Stroud 430 chute. I called stroud and gave them the weight and the MPH and that is the chute they recommended. I love the way the Stroud chute opens nice and soft and it's pretty easy to pack as well.

I love my t400 3-speed but keep in mind I race on the mountain in Colorado at over 5800ft. I have to agree with John about the rear gear. I would say a 4.10 or 3.90 gear would be much better for the bottle. My car with the 3.90 gear goes through the traps at 7300RPM at 148mph. My Nova weighs 3650lbs...
