Re: New PB - RTRA in Denton

Thanks - With no weight in the nose, we're at 54.9%, at Denton it wouldn't stay down until we were at about 55.7%. I think we need to be around 56-57% to really get after it on a track like that. That was also with some pretty tight shocks and about 2" of travel or so.

New PB - RTRA in Denton

We had a great weekend racing at the Northstar Dragway RTRA race in Denton. Got to meet SUPERNOVA aka Chris Madland and a bunch of other nice folks down in Texas. Ol' Blue did a good job, she ran a new PB - 4.63@151, 1.10 60' with a 3.02 to the 330' she was on a mission. We had issues keeping front ...

Re: Racing Update

She'd like to drive it, but she's smart enough to know that's not a great car to be starting out in. That would be a great way to get rid of a lot of weight though...

Thanks guys...

Re: Racing Update

We set a new PB at Tulsa last weekend, 4.75@150.98. Was trying to get it into the 60's but it didn't get there. Going to try again at Denton here in a couple weeks.

Re: Engine compression

That is a bit more of a spread than I'd expect to see. Go run the valves and make sure you've got them all adjusted correctly, charge battery and run it again. See if you don't see an improvement. There are things that sometimes will make a difference, spot of carbon on a valve, stuff like that, but...

Re: Mark IV BBC LS2 Cam Sync and Crank Trigger Solution

I get it, just didn't realize the Holley took care of advance and retard. I assume you get where things are initially with a timing light, tell the computer where it's "at" then it can adjust from there. Wonder if you have to spin it over on the starter with plugs out to find your initial ...

Re: Mark IV BBC LS2 Cam Sync and Crank Trigger Solution

Don't you need a way to adjust the sensor position for timing adjustments?

Re: Racing Update

Oh no, not that quick.

It has enough power/MPH to support at very best something in the low 4.60's, but I have to get it to run the front half harder to do that. We're racing this weekend at Tulsa. I'm hoping to get a new PB if all goes well.

Re: Racing Update

4.77@151 We've had incrementals that could have went quicker, just haven't got that good pass in yet.

Racing Update

http://www.johnheard.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/SM2016-1200.jpg Haven't got around to posting anything for a while, guess now is a good of a time as any. We've had a pretty decent season this year with 3 wins, 2 runner ups, a new Track Record at Wichita, and we runnered up in points for the Dra...
