My 1/4 times are averaged in the 14. sec. range and my trap speed is kind of funny because it seems that no matter what my times are, I appear to be going 94-96 mph.
This is to be expected. You could start in high gear and you'd still be running almost exactly the same final speed.

I didn't know this! Well, let me ask you a question then: Will my MPH improve once I get my truck to launch without burning rubber half way down the track? My 0-60 times are almost 3 seconds, that is from the tire slip, no?
Thanks!

once in high gear and at max rpm you will travel at max mph, reducing 60 ft. times will decrease E.T. and actually could lower MPH because youll reach the timers before max mph.

I don't remember if we have any other members in Oregon, but keep your eyes open. Surely there are some small tire racers somewhere in your area - Or watch for a True 10.5 race at your track or nearby one. Just ask some of the guys if they know anyone with some tires for sale. Point is they get rid of tires often and you can get them pretty cheap.

I think I'd try a drag radial, partial to Hoosier or MT. 275/60 or 295/65 would be a good place to start. Those 40 series tires have no sidewall to speak of and they wont hook if making any power at all.
