Chassis buildup

#1 Post by cri74 » Mon Jul 30, 2007 12:18 pm

I would like some opinions on doing a car from scratch using a Jegs chassis kit. I want to end up w/ a bbc on alky car that will run 5.90 or better in the 1/8 mi. I am a qualified welder and fabricator and have a I beam jig. Any thoughts or ideas are helpful. Thank You.

You can do it, it just takes alot of planning. I'd like to see you use something like the Alston Chassis Works Eliminater II kit. https://www.cachassisworks.com/iwwidb.p ... tem_submit

This would be a round tube chassis with struts and four link. It would be a good platform for a lot of power and the resale would be better than the Jegs kit IMO. If you can do it in Chromoly would even be better.

Good luck
