9 Inch slick guys looking for advice for high power setup

#1 Post by fourtenposi » Thu May 29, 2008 5:14 am

Hello All,

I have a 74 nova that weight 3150 with me in it. I am building me a new motor for it SBC 406 which should be in the 600 hp range. This is a bracket racer. It it raced in the footbrake class.
With current motor car runs 6.80s with a 1.45 sixty. Car works very well and will xerox timeslips. But the go faster bug has bitten me.
I have QA1 adjustable coil over r series up front and Rancho 9 way adjustables in the rear. It has the stock multileaf with caltracs in the lower hole. I currently run a hoosier 9x29 bias ply slick.

I am just looking for advice for tuning and chassis setup. I figure I will gain about 100 hp over my current combo. Is it worth my time trying to make the stock multileafs work or shoud I go right for the split monos?

I would also like to here what type of racing you do,consistancy and what your sixtys are.

Thanks in advance.
