The 275 does not do the best on the street though, i need as much tire as possible. I am sure once i lower and have a decent suspension that the 275 would do better but i still think i need more rubber for those street jaunts. I will ba adding a VHT sprayer under the car aswell.

I have those offset shackles on my shelf. I had to lift the rear to fit the tires on my 15x8.5 3.75BS rims, i am going to go to a 15x10 5.5BS rim instead.

Could be, i have to find the other thread when he was doing it. It had better pics.

So because a 325 is a shorter tire, might a guy get away with it easier than a 315? Might need alittle higher than stock ride height though.

Man my 73 Nova on that little tire was killer on the street and I had the motor that is going in the 72 in it. (525 ci bbc made 812 hp no n2o) all about foot control! It's more impressive that way. I still own the 73. I gave it to my son. It was set up like the 72 but in street form not strip form so I think the 72 will go be able to go faster in the end.

Ya, i was trying to hit the nitrous out of the hole, not a chance. Even on motor after a good burnout im peddaling bad. A better suspension will help but i fear it may still be a touchy issue. Some VHT should help though, gotta get those front tires up!

What I see is the back end of your car is so high that it can't transfer the weight of the front back over the rear tires. Your car is nose heavy sitting like that. It's never going to hook if it does'nt move the weight back.
My car sit 4" or more lower then your car does. With your car sitting like that it would'nt matter how big of a tire you put on it. My car sits 2"s below stock hight in the front and 3"s below stock hight in the back. Get that car on the ground and with the right set up it might scare you!

I don't have any weight in the car yet but look how low it sit in the pic.

You should do some research on weight transfer and suspension set ups. Look at most of the cars you see at the track. Low and tight!

Just some advice.

Ya, i know it needs to be lowered, hence the changes commencing this winter. I do not want to go real low like some guys, i dont like the fender skirt look. I would like atleast 2'' lower in the rear (at the tire) probably more. I guess i will see how it will hook this spring with some mods.

I consider myself lucky going as fast as i am with this setup, more consistancy will be nice though.

Ya ive seen pics of that one, boosted no?

Boost is alot easier to manipulate outa the hole, not takin anything away from that car though, badass.

BILTIT,

could you show us some pics of your rear suspension set up please I'd like to see how you have it set up, also are the current leaf springs you have on it for your make car Pontiac/Nova/Olds/Buick all the same set up.

Here is a shot of my car which is set up basiclly the same as John's car and some others and I have a 30" tall tire (30x9) ona 10" wheel

Image

Image

There's no reason you can't drop your car down a good 5" and run a small tire

This video isn't a Nova but it's a small tired car with 29.5x9 radial slicks conventional style headed 498 N/A with STOCK style suspension so it can be done. By the way I know of a Camaro with leaf springs and Caltracs and it runs just like Houston's car 7.90's
