Upper control arms on a malibu
I am putting a 8.8 into a 78 Malibu to do this I have to use the lowers off the malibu and the uppers of a mustang (adjustable). The problem is that the mounting points for the uppers are 1 1/2" lower than the malibu. I was just wanting to know if I could weld up plates on the uppers and rebore the mounting hole to make up the differance or will the piviot joint have to be moved up to make the correction? I can only use bolt on's to make class. Please help if you can the car is going to be driven on the street little and race a little.

They make "No-hop bars" for the stock Malibu diffs... Might be something to look into to give you an idea for a fix for ya.

The nohop bars will not work on 8.8. I was wanting to know if I could relocate the mounting hole on the uca by welding plates on both sides and reboring it 2" lower or would that mess up the geomrtry? If so I would have to move the mounting point on the rearend?

Look what I found

This is using a TRZ kit, but you could probably steal the idea.
