get some 275 60's and put them on a 15 inch wheel and see how it runs with 16 psi for a starting point.

First off do you have an auto or stick? If it's a stick, you're better off going right to 28" tall slicks (15 x 10.5 MT ET drag) -and sorting things from there. Unless you're at a very good track it will take some work to get the car to hook with radials if you're spraying off the line, especially with 4.10's.
If you don't have 31 spline axles that should be your first mod, along with welding the axle tubes. Also make sure you don't hit the factory rev limiter on the spray, you will run into problems.
As far as lower control arms, if that's all you change I doubt it will make much difference in your case. It took me quite a while to get it all figured out with a T56, PD blower and a track where you don't lose your shoes.

If your going with a 15" wheel get a 275/50/15. You dont need a 28" tall tire, 26" will be better for you.

I agree with the comment that control arms, alone, won't help. What brand of shocks do you have?
