Another little tip while I'm thinking a bout it. I bought the jegs roll cage kit. So it has a "U" for the main halo. I tacked everything in then we fried the backsides of the front downtubes where they meet the halo. After that we cut the down tubes floor tacks and the halos tacks to the main hoop. This allowed us to pull the halo and downtubes out of the car to finish welding them, I also painted them a bit too.
I was able to do the cage and leave my original headliner in. I made some shields out of .040 aluminum to shield the headliner from splatter and held them there while a friend welded the halo to the main bar.
