I could just as easily write a check to have it done (I too went to college and built a career, etc., and make a pretty good income). I don't buy my go fast hardware, I build it. Thats the point to all of this.

But even that isn't the really signifcant point I want to make here. I *want* to hang around with the rest of these folks, all the wanna-be-gofast guys (and gals). They're what makes the sport worthwhile. Unless you're into the corporate side of racing, courting big sponsors and chasing national titles, you're just another independant weekend racer, no matter what sort of purse you bring home in the end.

Being 'just another independant weekend racer', btw, is a pretty damn cool thing. It's easy to write checks, it's damn hard to build it all by hand. And those guys building stuff on their own are all of 'the clueless, the wannabes, the internet nobodies ' that you so casually dismiss. It's actually pretty cool to be grouped with all those folks. :)

I think that you should take some of that big money you make with your 30 year career investment and buy a clue as to what racing is about for real people.

Sorry John, that last post just hit a nerve and I'm a little ticked.

This would be another .02 cents I guess <g>

That was AWESOME Harry!!!! :thumb: I'm right beside ya on this one.

Well I'll say this bracket racer your consistant!!!! I still bow to the guru in you.

Here come the insult: SMARTY PANTS!!! :thumb: :thumb:   You must have been treated bad as a kid. It seems you need lots of attention for yourself. But what else can be said to someone like yourself that is from New Jersey. I guess we should expect you to act the way you do!!

I dam sure don't need to give you a resume as I have by far exceeded anything that just a footbraken bracket racer like yourself has done. Plus I wouldn't want to make you look worse then you already do.

YOU got NOTHING!

Ain't got shit worth talking about and ain't done shit!

Meanwhile, here's a Nova worth talking about that I also know alittle about ;) advising this 18 year old owner, builder, racer, competitor and friend every step of the way on his daily driver, n/a, pump gas, small tire, stock suspension aka leaf springs that at least one posting here states "needs all the help it can get." , small block combo! :-P

Image

and he's done something besides winning races...he's won a Wally too! :-P

and of course NO RIM SCREWS

Joe's "Novacain" car works! and he is a heck of a body man as well...
Him and I share ideas on another board/forum. The turn around time that he repaired that car after putting into the wall was incredible. I give him alot of credit.

How long do you reckon the tire would stay on this rim without rim screws, or beadlocks?

Thats an easy statement to make, I can easily say the same. Not everyone has the experience to be able to make the kinds of choices that need made track side. I'd like to think I've helped a few guys with their cars through the use of the forums. Thats why some seek places like this. To tap into what others know.

We might have spoken wikd69, I've talked to alot of guys about their combinations. I would like to think I've even helped a few out. I'd aslo like to think I haven't rubbed it into anyones face about offering to help out. If I have I'll now take the time to appologize for my actions. But I don't recall anything.

Someone here said it best...yea....being able to buy the stuff to go racing is great if thats what you're wanting to do. Not wanting belittling anyone for it. But I'm about being able to build/tune stuff. Then go out and watch what I've created,.... especially when it works properly. Actually,...I'm not much into watching anything that I haven't been involved in. When I am though you've got my total attention.

BTW John,...thanks for supplying us with a quality forum to do some bench racing at our leasure.

Don
