street car traction

#1 Post by jaspermaggie » Sat Oct 03, 2009 8:41 pm

I have a 55 chevy with a 355 that has 308 to the rear and a 125 shot that I dont have numbers for. It has a th350 3200 stall an 8.8 3.73 at m/t 27" tall drag radials. The rear is a 5 stack spring with traction bar no sway bar polly bushings and cheep shocks. The front is stock springs tube arms 1' swaybar kyb shocks. On the street on motor the car spins through first and most of second but it does go straight. Do you think lake 70/30 and 50/50 shocks would help? How are they on the street? I don't car about the ride just dont wont the car all over the place. I have looked at qa1 but at 140 a pop geeeeeeeeeeeeee. Thaks for your input
My car is not as fast as I think it is.

What size?

Its tough to get good traction on the street with any tire, the MTDR's help but its still a crapshoot at times.
