Diagonal bar vs wishbone??
I'm getting ready to back half a 87 Camaro. I'm in the process of ordering parts and would like to ask which is better?

I did search for the info and didn't come up with much. Maybe I should have asked which would be better for a race only application, diagonal bar or wishbone track locator?

Re: Diagonal bar vs wishbone??
it really is a preference deal, the wishbone is maybe more stable, and might be better, it is much harder to fit and weld and binding is posible, I add a threaded grease serts to mine whenever I install wishbones.(the main tube can rust) there is no real advantage in my opinion, have run 8.20s on diagonal links in both 4 link and ladder bar cars. I will not install panhard bars on any of my customers cars because I don't like the lateral movement with the unit installed above the rear end. I would go with the threaded diagonal bolt in unit if it were up to me. That is what I have had in all my own cars for 25 yrs. the wishbone looks cooler though ! this is a customers 25.4 cert chassis and he wanted the wishbone.
Re: Diagonal bar vs wishbone??
For 4 link cars with higher HP, we build an X-link.

An x-link is like 2 diagonal bars welded together to form an "X" between the pivot points of the lower links of the 4-link suspension.overdriv wrote:Please explain, pictures would be nice.DOTracer wrote:For 4 link cars with higher HP, we build an X-link.
