Midplate mount

#1 Post by 70 nova » Tue Apr 13, 2010 5:10 pm

How do you guys put your midplate mounts, with respect to the plate, the ones that weld to the frame. I put the midplate in front of the mounts, just because I think it would be easier to pull the motor, or are you guys putting the midplate behind the mount. Also using a front motor plate.

Interesting. Just out of curiosity, how come? Is it any easier to pull the motor? I am going to mount both plates in front of the mounts.

My mid and front plate are mounted infront of the frame tabs. I wanted to be able to pull the motor forward from the mid plate when i have to take it out. I also have the tranny tapped into the mid plate in two places so it stays in position if I pull the motor.

Hey Homers442, now that sounds like a good idea, but exactly how did you do that. Pics would be great, because I am a visual type of guy, unless you could paint me a picture.
What about if you just wanted to pull the tranny, would it be a problem? Thanks, Anthony

I use 2 midplates, one on the engine and one on the tranny, i can pull either one independant of the other without supports under them. The engine plate is 1/8" blocksaver plate and the tranny is a 1/4".
