Front shock single adj / strange

#1 Post by jaspermaggie » Sat May 29, 2010 12:03 pm

I have only been able to find a single adjust front shock for my car. I dive it mostly on the street and to the track. Does anyone have strange what do you think? I have also looked at lakewood 70/30 for the money would I be better off. I dont wont a 90/10 front shock. I know it would be best for the track. I have cal trak in back soon to have strange single adj or lakewood 50/50.
55 chevy 355 block 420hp 125 nitrous about 3800lb. Runs 1.68 60 and 7.46 96 1/8.
My car is not as fast as I think it is.

For the money it's hard to beat the lakewoods. I've seen some guys go pretty quick with them.

I know a guy that went mid 5's with 90/10 in the front and 50/50 in the back. I have the 90/10 in the front of my car but I feel like I need something with more adjustment. If you don't care to spend the money go with the strange but if your like me i'd have to try the lakewoods.

Another thing to think about is the rancho 9000 shocks for the rear, it's a good adjustable shock for the rear and not as high as strange

do you have rancho in back? I also wonder if all this is worth it. I don't know how much I would even pick up in the 60.

Yes I do have ranchos in the back and lakewood 90/10 in the front. I had the competition engineering shocks awhile back and these are 10x better. The problem I have now in not being able to control the front end of my car. I think I'm going to need adjustables up front to keep it down. I haven't made any real good passes in it because of various problems but I've been 5.60s @ 135 with a 1.45 60ft. On another pass I went a 1.31 60ft. But didn't make the rest of the pass. Car weighed 3570 not real sure about front and rear percentages. If your planning on making it a lot faster go ahead and spend the money on the strange, but the lakewoods will probably work well for you for a while.

Have you tried calling Calvert Racing to see if they can help you with a front shock?

I got a pair of their shocks (D2301) on the front of my Camaro.
