new shocks?

#1 Post by 427belair » Mon Aug 09, 2010 7:50 pm

I found myself with a little extra money to spend on the car so I ordered up some Strange DA rear shocks for my nova as I havent been able to 60' this year like I have in the past. Im going 4 tenths faster than I was last year, but my 60's are 4 to 6 hundreths slower

I am looking for a good starting point as far as settings go.

74 nova 3200lbs w/ driver alum. headed BBC
Stock front suspension w/ comp eng. 3 way shocks, stock spring w/ 1.5 coils cut
4 link rear suspension with ARB. Unknown red single adjustable shocks, unknown settings 5" travel 10" 175# spring with 1 coil cut off. Was the old set up.

New Strange DA 7" travel shock with 150# 12" spring.
I did call the 4 link manufacturer and they said this was the correct shock for the 4 link.

Im not sure what else you guys need to know, but Im not sure what the IC #'s are and dont have front to back #'s either.

Thanks Jason

Isn't that lot of spring for that? I'm asking 'cause I don't know. My truck weighs 3900 lbs and I've got 150lb srpings on the rear of it with ladder bars. They're pretty stiff.
